Quote:

"This was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal.." - Barack Obama (D)

"If [Trump] gets a second term, these hellish events [fires, floods and hurricanes] will continue to become more common, more devastating and more deadly." - Joe Biden (D)

"Mother Earth is angry. She's telling us -- whether she's telling us with hurricanes on the Gulf Coast, fires in the West, whatever it is." - Nancy Pelosi (D)

"And, you know, what that means is that just because a woman or let's also not forget someone in the trans community, a trans female is poor, doesn't mean they shouldn't have the right to exercise that right to choose. And so I absolutely would cover the right to have an abortion." - Julian Castro (D)

"Today, thanks to Roe, getting an abortion is safer than getting your tonsils out." - Elizabeth Warren (D)

"Congratulations to all who are out on the streets today peacefully protesting. Together, we will end police brutality." - Bernie Sanders (D candidate for POTUS)

...one week later...

"Trump wants 15,000 delegates cheering him at his GOP convention in Florida. No social distancing. His rejection of medical advice endangers not only those there but those they come in contact with. Trump's a threat to the health and well-being of the country." - ALSO Bernie Sanders (D candidate for POTUS)

Just to be clear here, the 'Party of Science' believes that Presidents have the supernatural power to control sea levels, hurricanes and wildfires, they believe a virus is only virulent to those with center-right political views, they believe men with no uterus need access to abortion to get rid of something comparable to tonsils, and they fear the wrath of a Proto-Indo-European earth goddess.

It would seem the 'Party of Science' hasn't seen quite so much power since they burned witches at Salem.

This is more about control and separating people from their money than saving the planet. Just another facet of Socialism.

They only like the science that fits their narrative. For instance, many Democrats and liberals are science deniers when it comes to gender and sex, believing that such things are mere social constructs that can be chosen by the individual. They deny basic biology.

Well of course it is. Clinton was President for 8 years, G.W. Bush for 8 who had is own plan to reduce greenhouse emissions by 18%, then Obama for 8 years. 24 consecutive years of either democratic control or G.W. who is very moderate. They had no control over climate, both Biden and Pelosi were there for the entire 24 years. They did nothing to change the climate.

These folks are foolish, we don't control climate. Even if we try to. These people are simply selling a bill of goods.

Darn tootin'!!!

I mean 3 years is enough time to enact policies and cause the world to self destruct due to the always rapidly changing climate.

I mean, it was dry last week and suddenly it rained. Trump's fault, for sure.

This is false.

Democratic leaders led us to sign the Paris Accords and sought to limit the production of greenhouse gases through various means like carbon taxes.

You need to brush up on your historical facts.

Totally agree, but we do have the ability to not exacerbate a bad situation that could result in much more devastation than is necessary. That is what we should be trying to determine as to if we are doing that and what mitigation efforts might be reasonable to initiate. I wrote a lengthy post in another thread concerning this topic so I won't repeat here, other to say that the mistake the Rep politicians are making IMO is in totally dismissing an obvious change in climate over the last half century or more, and in doing so making themselves look like third grade dunces. It also doesn't take rocket science to realize that all this junk we are injecting into the air doesn't have an effect on our health and our environment.

You don't have to jump on the "Green Deal" to at least see the negative effect a warmer climate will have on tens of millions of people living on ocean fronts and living in tender box areas where millions of houses have been built that can be more endangered with a warming climate. To not even try to first understand if we are contributing to a warming Earth and then if so, what we might do to not exacerbate a bad situation is irresponsible. We might not be able to do much of anything, but the Reps don't even want to have that discussion.

I guess it's the same mentality as with reasonable universal background checks for firearm purchases. That old boogeyman.....slippery slope. Let's just ignore what seems to the majority of people to be staring us in the face on a daily basis, because if we don't, we will have to go all the way.

Of the thousands of minute factors that can affect climate, focusing almost solely on a trace gas in the atmosphere is certainly not the most effective way to affect climate. What we need to focus on most is air quality. CO2 up to 1000 ppm is not harmful at all.
Quote:

CO2 400-1,000ppm
Concentrations typical of occupied indoor spaces with good air exchange

There are so many other factors. We have greatly improved carbon emissions...

Quote:

As the "Emissions per Capita" column from the following EIA chart shows, 2017 U.S. per capita CO2 emissions were 15.8 metric tons per person, their lowest levels in 67 years .Jul 7, 2018
I will bet there are factors we have no control over causing the overall increase in atmospheric CO2.

If you want people to believe you, then you need to explain why it is bizarre, and how it is taken out of context. Otherwise you are just making a baseless assertion based on partisan allegiance.

I'm not personally acquainted with an atheist Democrat.
That's odd.

Yea I'm calling bs on this one. I have several in my own family who fit that description.
I still have atheist Democrat friends I met at Baylor. I can't imagine how a person goes through life outside the bubble and never becomes acquainted with one.

This is a bizarre cherry-picking of quotes and taking them out of context.

Especially when DJT said yesterday that blue states don't matter when it comes to COVID.
It's not enough to take these quotes and say they are "bizarre cherry-picking" and taken "out of context."

If you want people to believe you, then you need to explain why it is bizarre, and how it is taken out of context. Otherwise you are just making a baseless assertion based on partisan allegiance.

First, none of these reflect atheism.

Second I'm an evangelical, and I'm a Democrat. I'm certain some are, but I'm not personally acquainted with an atheist Democrat.

Third, are they destroying your church? Why? They aren't hurting mine or any other church I know of.

Fourth, calling people "evil" with no basis is no way to have any decent conversation.

If we going to have any future in this country, we need to stop mischaracterizing each other.

That ending of mischaracterization can being with elimination of the false idea that any Christian can vote for the modern Democrat party without offending God.
