It's good to point out, that in many ways, the worse did not come to worse. But on the other hand, let's not kid ourselves, we've lost a lot, a lot of Freedoms, a lot of wealth, a lot of our fellow Americans. There is an element of a survivorship bias that says, hey things aren't so bad. Those that didn't survive however aren't around anymore to give their side of the story.
