Couple of quick notes
Tanner McCalister (Rockwall-Heath) will be in attendance on Saturday. If Baylor offers, I like where they sit with him. TCU is unlikely to take him now with Atanza 'AT' Vongor and Trevon Moehrig-Woodard committed. Oklahoma State is the team to watch and McCalister essentially told me this afternoon that Baylor was his dream school growing up. The biggest issue here is his speed (4.71 at The Opening), but tested extremely well in the other category of importance (3.97 SH). We will see if Bralen Taylor (Cuero) makes it in, but Baylor still sits in a good position here regardless. I do believe that Texas is a threat if they offer, but he's left there twice upset because they led him on. He even skipped prom to head to Austin with the thought an offer could be coming and they strung him along even more. How long this could carry on I'm not sure, but I do believe Baylor is still the team to beat here. Why is Texas waiting? Their 2017 TE signee Reese Leitao out of Oklahoma is still not clear of drug charges yet. If he is and he goes to Texas, that will have an impact on if Taylor gets an offer. Texas is also in the running for a couple of other tight ends in 2018 that probably fit what they want more than Taylor (hybrid types). I don't think Baylor's staff will apply pressure, but they can show him they don't see him as a back-up option to anyone the way that Texas does... if that is indeed the case.
