2018 Class Refresh
Let me know the questions you have. Please, for now, leave out the "are we going to land this guy" type of questions. I'll try to have an update on where Baylor sits with their top targets soon.- Baylor has six spots left in the class with how the class is shaking out. - At this point in time I do not see any of the current commits as flight risks. The staff continues to do a great job on selling these guys on the future. I had one prospect mention to me that he calculated the totals and Baylor has lost six games by an average of 7.8 points and felt that the current freshman class + the 2018 class is more than enough difference in making up the difference in those games in the future. - If I'm pressed to note a few players who Baylor needs to worry about holding on to: Joshua Landry and Christian Morgan. Landry seems to be the more likely one to jet, while Morgan continues to have tweets (and direct comments towards me) like the following: https://twitter.com/Christianm_4/status/922152831074947072- I think you will see Baylor take 2-4 JUCO prospects in the class when all is said and done. Right now, I lean towards three more than four, but the group will look something like this: QB, 1-2 OL, DB. - Baylor was supposed to bring in former Oregon QB Terry Wilson this weekend, but Baylor has canceled that visit. There is another name out there that they are watching closely. - On the OL, Willie Allen is obviously one of the choices and there is a great reason to be cautiously optimistic about him landing at Baylor. Another OL with three to play two out of the Northeast is on the radar and I will give more info when I can. Both of these guys are viewed as guards. - I don't have any specific names on the DBs, but the need for a JUCO DB could be eliminated with the signing of a player like Cam'ron Jones Baylor has a shot to flip Jones. I expect him on campus at least twice in the coming weeks/months.- From the HS ranks, I expect Baylor to take a combo of QB, WR, ATH and DB. The reason I say combo is because if Baylor were to miss on Tommy Bush, I don't think they are set on finding another true WR. - At QB, Gerry Bohanon is the obvious name. They are watching another handful of QBs closely including Clayton Tune who visited over the weekend. - I would keep a close eye on Daevon Robinson out of New Jersey who is committed to NC State. He is good friends with John Lovett and Harrison Hand and I'd give it about an 80% chance he will visit Baylor. He is kind of the guy I see them pushing for if they don't land Bush, but he isn't going to be a true receiver. More of an H-back. He's not viewed in the same mold as any of the current "tight ends" committed. He would fall into my "athlete" category.- The priority at DB right now is Cam'ron Jones who I mentioned above.

National Average Rating

The National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a SicEm365 rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the SicEm365 Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide SicEm365 readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.

Staff Predictions

The predictions represent which school each staff member believes will ultimately sign the recruit, and the confidence meter represents his level of certainty in that outcome.

Example #1

If the predicted school is Baylor and confidence is set to “High”, then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Baylor and I feel very certain about that.”

Example #2

If the predicted school is “Alabama” and confidence is set to “Low,” then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Alabama, but I’m not very certain about that.”
