C'ing Blanton

Grayson will have more as I had to leave early due to my son's third birthday party at 4pm, but this was a well run event and essentially the kick off of the camp season in Dallas.I missed the Houston event Saturday in Barbers Hill to attend Nick Nichols memorial service, so I'm sure everyone understands.These are always fun because you see the rest of the crews that cover recruiting for other schools. Jeremy Clark came over to say hello. Gabe Brooks and I discussed about 20 different Baylor offers. Saw EJ and Roach. Talked with CoachO, Verone McKinley, and more.A few people asked if Rhule was going to the Jets and I said the Jets had hired someone else after Rhule turned them down. Kids were excited to play for a coach being pursued by the NFL and you'll hear some of that in the Plae Wyatt interview.The event started at 2pm and that was the beginning of stretching so the action began around 2:30.I watched the WR, QB, DL, OL, and RB groups and here are my observations:QB: There were 3-5 DI kids in the 25 there. Ken Seals looks the part, talks the part, but something seems off in that he looks to be looking for attention when he does drills. Maybe he's bored, but he's talented, but you want to see a kid just perform. Braylon Braxton has a live arm and could be one to watch for 2021. Cedar Hill 2021 QB Kaidon Salter has a really live arm. I mean, damn. Not that big, but he could throw. Behren Morton of Eastland has some hype and he has the size and arm to be dangerous in 2021. Deuce Hogan won the MVP and had an Iowa hat on, but I didn't see him being great while I watched and that likely changed or I missed it.RB: I came to the event to watch Will Nixon and he didn't disappoint. Jordan Taylor no showed, so I missed him, but expect to see him soon at Under Armour or Nike.WR: FW Southwest C'ing Blanton is pretty legit. He might be a better safety, but he's got something on film and in person. He'll be camping to get a Baylor offer this summer.OL: This group looked like a big bag of nothing outside of Nathan Anderson. Baylor is talking to the big kid and his feet are good/great and he's big framed, but has room to grow. His shoulders are rolled, but that can change with some weightroom work. He's pretty well built for an OL in definition, so adding weight isn't going to be hard. Overall, there were some big cancellations due to the weather like Garrett Hayes and Jordan Taylor we really wanted to see. Next up, 2/17 Under Armour in Houston where Grayson and I likely share a hotel and make fun of his classmate for getting dunked on again.
