I actually do not understand why Texas did not want to build its own power and money making mega conference based out its own region to be what the SEC or BiG is today and play the role of Bama or Michigan or Ohio State does in those conferences. The original XII appeared to be a step toward that. I just dont get why they didnt want a mega conference to exist based out of their home region.
