Wandt wins second goalkeeper of the week award this season
Fifth-year senior Jennifer Wandt made a season-high six saves Sunday night to help her take home her seventh career weekly award.
Her save of a dangerous Oregon shot with a little under three minutes left in the second overtime period helped seal an amazing comeback draw.
She dove and fully extended for a ball that was headed towards the top left corner of her goal. This
was just one of many solid saves on the night, and her vigilance through a 110-minute battle was noteworthy.
The draw puts Baylor at 3-2-2 currently, with two more non-conference games left against Stephen F. Austin and San Francisco.
Their 0.571 winning percentage has them sitting 4th in the conference standings behind TCU, Texas Tech and West Virginia. They have faced a strong slate of teams so far with arguably a top-half strength of schedule for the league.
If Wandt keeps her form in goal, Baylor can do some damage in Big 12 play.
