Positives

  • Took care of the basketball in the second half.  Only 3 turnovers, none the last 8 minutes of the game.
  • Shot lights out from 3 led by 12-21 from the 3 guards (Akinjo, Flagler and Cryer).
  • Turned TCU over 18 times, won that battle 18-12 for the game.
  • Great composure on the road after falling down 9 early in the second half.  Baylor was the only road victor in the Big12 today.
  • 21 wins in a row, hard to absorb blow after blow from motivated teams that want to knock you off the perch.  Baylor has a chance to break the all-time longest Big12 winning streak of 23 games set by Baylor in 2019-20.
  • Great halftime adjustments that led to the Bears outscoring TCU 45-27 in the second half.

Needs Work

  • The Bears were held under 30% offensive rebounding percentage for the first time all year and perhaps the first time in a long time.  They are normally rebound 40% of all misses.
  • Getting to the foul line, not going to shoot 50% from 3 every game.  Need to find ways to get to the foul line and make free throws.
  • Balance, scoring last two games has been lopsided in the backcourt.  The backcourt is terrific but teams will try to force the frontcourt to make plays going forward, the Bears need to be ready.
  • Defensive tenacity and ball toughness have to be great against Texas Tech and Oklahoma State this week.  Those are two athletic, offensively challenged teams.  But if you don't bring the fight, they will beat you.
