Baylor WT’s Harvison Named Big 12 Player of the Week
WACO, Texas – Baylor’s Isabella Harvison was named the Big 12 Player of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday.
This marks the first-career weekly award for Harvison and the second time a Bear has been honored this season as Alicia Herrero Linana received the award on Feb. 1.
Harvison recorded the upset of the weekend as she knocked off No. 20 Margarita Skriabina in straight sets on Sunday, 6-4, 6-2, as No. 33 Baylor swept No. 34 Texas Tech, 7-0. The Alabama transfer brought the dubs at the one spot for the Bears to open conference play this past week.
The California native won each of her singles matches in straight sets to help Baylor sweep both Big 12 opponents. This marks BU’s second-straight start to league play with back-to-back sweeps and fourth time overall.
