AUSTIN, Texas – Baylor soccer’s Kayley Ables caps off a successful academic and athletic career by being named a College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-American, the organization announced Wednesday.

Ables becomes the sixth player in program history to receive Academic All-America honors and is the first to be named to the second team. The Bears have only had one player, Dana Larsen, receive higher academic honors than Ables when Larsen was named to the first team in 2012.

The Waco, Texas, native currently holds a 4.0 GPA in her business administration graduate program, after also completing her undergraduate business degree at Baylor with a perfect 4.0.

She is one of 19 student-athletes on all three Division I teams to boast a 4.0 GPA in their graduate or undergraduate work.

Ables played five seasons for the Bears, starting in all 17 games at defender during the 2022 season and playing 1,432 minutes, the most of any player on the season.
