The 1-3-1: Baylor (12-5, 3-2) vs K-State (12-6, 1-4)

Baylor (12-5, 3-2) will host K-State (12-6, 1-4) on Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m. in the Ferrell Center. The Bears are coming into this matchup on a two-game skid following a disappointing road loss to West Virginia on Sunday 74-65.

To add insult to injury, Baylor fell out of the top-25 for the first time since 2004. Despite the glaring negatives, the Bears did shoot a season-best 83.3% (10-for-12) from the free throw line against the Mountaineers.

As Baylor prepares for a must-win game against K-State, here is the 1-3-1 on the Bears and Wildcats.

One Player:

K-State does an excellent job of spreading the wealth when it comes to getting buckets, but their breadwinner is senior guard Gabbie Gregory. The Oklahoma transfer leads the Wildcats in scoring with 335-points this season — tied with Tasha Dickey from the 2011-12 season — while averaging 19.7 per game.

Gregory has eclipsed 20 points eleven times this season, including two 30-plus performances against Northern Arizona and South Dakota State.

Three Nuggets:

●      Baylor is 41-9 in the all-time series with Kansas State, and an impressive 18-1 in Waco.

●      K-State is shooting 77.3 percent from the free throw line this season.

●      The Wildcats have five different players with at least one 20-point game this season.

One Concern:

Baylor must eliminate costly turnovers in order to come away with a win against K-State. The Bears had 15 turnovers in their loss West Virginia, which resulted in 22 points for the Mountaineers.

K-State does an excellent job of generating turnovers, largely in part to sophomore sister duo Brylee and Jaelyn Glenn. The two have accounted for 81 steals (Jaelyn - 45; Brylee - 36) this season.

Jaelyn leads the Big 12 in steals per game (2.5), while Brylee is fifth (2.00). They’re responsible for 49.1 percent of K-State's steals this season.

Watch/Listen:

The contest between the Bears and Wildcats is available for streaming via Big 12 Now on ESPN+ and a live radio broadcast is also available for fans on the Varsity Network App. Additionally, live in-game updates will be provided via Twitter or live stats.

Not to sound redundant, but again, we cannot close out a game with ease. I understand we won by 20. But a 20 point lead turns into a 10 point lead in a matter of 3 minutes. Have to learn how to extend the lead. When I played ball that was the signs of a good team. Those that can continue the pressure and extend. We have yet to do that to really anyone. That is what I'm waiting on.

I'll take a win, but Sunday will not be nearly as easy.

1-8 from the field, 1-2 from the line. First half she dribbled like an 8 year old. Got a little smoother as the game went on but her shot was not there.

Give her time. She has not played in a month due to injury, she will come around.

Agreed. You can tell she has not played in a while. Hopefully it's a steady improvement to get back to where she was before the injury.

Plus, they were really collapsing on her defensively. She was surrounded by 2 or 3 KSU players as soon as she touched the ball.
Well I ain't no greenhorn!!
