Baylor Finalizes Home-and-Home Football Series With Maryland for 2027, 2028
Baylor has finalized a home-and-home football series with Maryland for the 2027 and 2028 seasons, the school announced Friday.
The Bears will travel to College Park, Maryland, on Sept. 18, 2027, before hosting the Terrapins at McLane Stadium on Sept. 16, 2028. The matchup replaces Baylor’s previously scheduled two-game series with Oregon, which was canceled by mutual agreement.
With the addition of Maryland, Baylor’s 2027 nonconference schedule is complete. The Bears will open the season at home against UIW on Sept. 4, travel to Air Force on Sept. 11, and then visit Maryland on Sept. 18. Conference dates will be announced later by the Big 12.
In Big 12 play, Baylor will host Arizona, Cincinnati, Oklahoma State, UCF, and West Virginia, while traveling to Kansas State, TCU, Texas Tech and Utah.
Baylor’s 2028 schedule currently features a season opener against North Texas on Sept. 2 and the return game against Maryland in Waco on Sept. 16.
The 2027 contest will be the third meeting between the programs and the first since 1956. The all-time series is tied 1-1. Baylor earned a 14-0 victory in College Park in 1956, while Maryland won 20-6 in Waco in 1955.
Baylor will begin the 2026 season on Sept. 5 against Auburn in Atlanta. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. CT, with the game airing on ABC.
