What a great season! How could anyone have picked Texas to win the Big 12? I guess they think that if they keep wishing hard enough that it will happen some day.

I am very glad to see Wallace and Cohen lead the way to this victory since they are the only two seniors on the team. I have to think that they both got special satisfaction from helping Baylor secure number 8 in a row since it is their last go-round.

With Prince, Jones and Davis leaving last year, there was a fairly large void to fill. I'm amazed that the offensive production didn't drop significantly. The combination of players "stepping up" and effective coaching made the difference.

I hope my cut-and-paste works. Interesting and candidly blunt article from Austin newspaper. The most amazing thing I read is Aston's record in the Big 12, and yet she considers her program 'elite'. Article basically calls her out on it and states the obvious: Baylor 'elite', UT only 'good'.

One of the commenters called it a "sycophantic article". Since when does "sycophantic" equal "true", or "accurate"?

I don't understand how Aston recruits. What does she have to "wow" a potential recruit? Can she point at two National Championship banners in the rafters earned during her tenure? Or even ONE Big12 championship? Oh, sure...her teams have beaten Baylor...once. And you've won about 70% of your conference games, and you think you're "elite." Yeah, ut has their own channel...that no one watches. Oh, if you cheat or avoid classes, you can sit out a semester and come on back. What makes playing for such a sourpuss so attractive? Perhaps someone who has gone through the recruiting gauntlet can shed some light on this?

I do not understand the thread heading of "claimed" the championship. The Lady Bears WON the championship head to head, on the court. Competitive sports is different from mining or digging gold and silver where a "claim" must be validated via legal process for it to become official..
