Bears advance to Big 12 Championship game with victory over Oklahoma
OKLAHOMA CITY - Baylor (3-0) defeated Oklahoma (2-2) 10-3 for the second time in the 2018 Big 12 Tournament on Saturday morning to earn a spot in the Big 12 Tournament Championship game for the first time since 2010.
The Bears will face the winner of TCU (2-0) and WVU (2-1) on Sunday at 1 p.m. CT in a game that will be aired on Fox Sports.
Alex Phillips collected the win on the mound for the Bears in relief of starter Tyler Thomas. Phillips tosses 5.1 shutout innings with 7 strike outs and 1 walk.
Davion Downey launched a 2-run home run in the top of the 4th inning to boost the Bears offensively while Shea Langeliers went 2 for 5 at the plate with and RBI. Eight of nine Baylor batters collected at least one hit in the contest.
