WACO, Texas – Baylor football will face Auburn in 2025 and 2026 following the signing of a two-year game contract, Vice President and Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Mack Rhoades, IV, announced Thursday.

“We are excited to announce a home-and-home series with Auburn,” Rhoades said. “This is an exciting opportunity for our student-athletes to compete against a tradition-rich Power 5 opponent and for our fans to enjoy games against a top out-of-conference team.

“One of our goals is to provide a challenging schedule each and every season. Non-conference games like these, in addition to the Big 12’s true round-robin conference schedule, will help us continue to put our teams in position to compete for championships.”

The Bears will welcome Southeastern Conference member Auburn to McLane Stadium on August 30, 2025, to open the season and begin the home-and-home agreement. The following season, the series will continue at Jordan-Hare Stadium in Auburn, Ala. on Sept. 5, 2026.

The two programs have met four times with Baylor holding a 2-1-1 advantage all-time. The most recent meeting was a 15-14 Baylor victory in 1976. The first-ever matchup came in the 1954 Gator Bowl in Jacksonville, Fla.

The series with Auburn joins previously announced notable home-and-home dates with BYU (2021-22) and Utah (2023-24).

Additionally, Baylor has finalized dates for three upcoming games with Texas State. Baylor will travel to San Marcos on Sept. 4, 2021, before hosting the Bobcats on Sept. 17, 2022, and Sept. 2, 2023.

Baylor opens the 2018 season against Abilene Christian Sept. 1 at McLane Stadium. Season tickets and mini-plans can be purchased by contacting the Baylor Ticket Office at 254-710-1000 or online atwww.BaylorBears.com/BThere/.

The scheduling efforts by Mack have been ace so far.

The previous regime talked about fearing no one, the incumbents actually schedule teams like they think that.

I've been to more Auburn than Baylor games. Good people. They despise playing Aggy and their dirt fans.

They were surprised. I laughed bc I warned them.

The SEC fans, save for Flor/Tennessee rivalry have been really cool.

Ag doesn't represent Texas well.

1. Gift auburn your best players (Stidham and auBUrn Martin)

2. Use this as bargaining leverage to schedule auburn

3. Allow auburn to take you to the woodshed (better than losing to liberty! not kidding here)

We'll be a different team then. If CMR is still leading the Bears, that means he's turned the ship around and has us winning games. If he fails to do that, we will be on a replacement (or replacement's replacement) coach by then. In any scenario, though, we will be a very different team that what we've seen of CMR's Bears so far.

If we can't beat Liberty, why are we scheduling Auburn?

I would have liked this when we were good... now it seems just one more step away from possibly making a bowl game.

I hope ESPN isn't constantly griping about Auburn scheduling cupcakes in 2025.

2025 is so far away it's doubtful L'il Matty will be at BU. As proven by last years interview for another job, he's a short timer winning or losing. IF, and that's a big IF, he turns this dumpster program around he's out of here. Four more years of winning or less than mediocre results will put the clan of Church Decons in a precarious position. Either way BU will be starting all over again against a perennial strong SEC team with big, strong, fast athletes.

Briles must've sucked as a coach since you think any successful coach must be destined to bolt at first opportunity.

Maybe by that time, people will have forgotten what an embarrassment "one foot out the door" made of themselves a decade earlier.
Hopefully, they won't cheapen college sports like they have in the present.

"One foot out the door", what a stigma being known as unethical and immorale while trying to play the victim card while walking away with big money.
