TOP QUOTE

“Ryan (Grider) asked me how we were doing (while looking at a 50-foot putt on the 18th green), and I said ‘it’s really close, but I’m not positive.’ Everybody was confused, but I said ‘I think if you two-putt this we’re either going to win by a shot or tie,’ so he knew what he needed to do. Normally I wouldn’t do that, but I wanted to give Ryan an opportunity to do something special, and he made a great six-footer coming back. He’s had a long battle back from a tough freshman year, he wasn’t his best last year and he knew it, but I think he’s made more improvement in four months that about anybody I’ve ever seen relative to how he handles himself. He’s starting to walk like a champion every day, which is great.”
