WACO, Texas – Baylor's 2019 football schedule, which includes seven home games for the first time at McLane Stadium, was announced Thursday by the Big 12 Conference.

The schedule features Baylor’s first seven-game home schedule since 2013. The Bears open the 2019 season with back-to-back home games against Stephen F. Austin (Aug. 31) and UTSA (Sept. 7).

Home Big 12 Conference dates include Iowa State (Sept. 28), Texas Tech (Oct. 12), West Virginia (Oct. 31), Oklahoma (Nov. 16) and Texas (Nov. 23). The match-up with WVU is scheduled for a Halloween Thursday night, while Texas Tech’s visit to Waco is its first since 2007. The series with Texas Tech will be played on campus in each of the next two seasons with Baylor visiting Jones AT&T Stadium in Lubbock during the 2020 campaign.

Baylor plays nine of 12 regular-season games in the state of Texas in 2019, including a non-conference visit to Houston to face Rice on Sept. 21. Other road trips include conference match-ups at K-State (Oct. 5), Oklahoma State (Oct. 19), TCU (Nov. 9) and the regular season finale at Kansas (Nov. 30).

The top two finishers in the Big 12 regular season standings will compete for the conference title in the Big 12 Football Championship Game, which is scheduled in 2019 for Saturday, December 7. The championship game will be played in Arlington, Texas' AT&T Stadium through 2021.

All dates are subject to change. Television selections for the first three weeks of the season and special dates are due to the conference by June 1, 2019. The date for Baylor's 2019 Homecoming celebration will be designated at a later time.

Woah that's interesting. Not sure about traveling to Lubbock in 2020.

So will 2018 be the last time we play Tech at Jerry World? I prefer a home game in Waco, but I'll take Jerry World over Lubbock any day.

We've played there for decades. What's the big deal?

I thought there was a requirement to play a P5 team out of conference each year. Is that not in full effect yet?

Doesn't apply to the schedules that were already set years in advance.

I think that starts in 2020, as schedules are set years in advance.

Three bye weeks is intradesting, especially having two in three weeks.

I like having Tech at home. Kinda tired of the extra Arlington trip, and getting 7 home games rules.

Hopefully the advantage of 7 home dates won't be negated by NCAA sanctions and a bowl ban.

Trip to Kansas on Thanksgiving weekend won't be great for the players or traveling fans, though.

The "big deal" is that its been decades since we've won there. 1990. We were in the SWC and Grant Teaff was our head coach. Time to put an end to that, post haste.

wish they could figure out how to get a rotation of the 4 Texas schools on the Thanksgiving weekend each year.

Extra bye week in play because there are 14 weekends of games in 2019, just 13 in 2018...I like this schedule a lot, but boy the conference road games in 2020 are gonna be brutal!

This is a really really favorable schedule in my opinion. Depending on how the rest of this season plays out, next year we could be looking at 9+ wins at least.

Wow, 9?? I see 5 that could be sure...don't know where you get 9.

Should have 7 for 2020 as well depending on the open date non-conf.

Actually two bye weeks. We play WVU on a Thursday night instead of Saturday. I guess you could call it a "Bye day"

Like I said, depending on how this season plays out. If we play the kind of defense we played against UT the rest of the season, we should at least end with 6 wins. I don't see any automatic losses on the schedule, unlike the schedule this season, do you? We barely leave the state of Texas and our road schedule is full of some of the weaker teams from this season (OSU, KSU, KU). Like I said, I see it as being very favorable.

Tech Baylor could be headed for the new Rangers domed stadium.

Glad to see Baylor-Tech back to home and home. You folks shouldn't knock a game in Lubbock unless you've tried it a few times. Lubbock is a great football town and the game atmosphere is excellent. Seen a lot of fun games on the South Plains.

Looking at the schedule I see three weekends where the opponent is listed as OFF. If we beat OFF three times that will put us halfway to bowl eligibility. Cmon Bears! Beat OFF!

It's past time to reset expectations from now on. We're looking at 6-6 to 8-4 when Rhule's Process is complete. His D and TOP will be fine, but a team must average around 35 points per game in Big 12 play to win the conference. In the first Q against Texas, Baylor had ONE possession. His O timing, and his inability to manage his timeouts will be a continuing problem, but Baylor can be a consistent Bowl Team anyway.

This is one of the biggest reasons I've liked having TTech as a neutral site game 90 miles from Waco, as it insured playing 4 true conference road games along with 4 conference home games each and every season. Now, as in 2020, every other year we'll have 5 conference road games with 4 of those 5 being at Norman, Austin, Morgantown and Lubbock. That alone can turn what might be a promising season into a disaster, unless we're virtually at or close to the level of Briles' 2013 and 2014 teams.

So, my seat's pricing per game just went down - correct? 7 games next year versus 6 ??
Wonder if they'll raise season ticket prices under the 'guise "you're getting one more game"?
Hope not. Could be a big public relations win for MR on this one.

In 2013, prices stayed the same despite a 7th game. But tickets sold were poor then.

The cheapest Season Tickets in:

2011 were $101 for 6 games ($16.83/gm).
2012 were $103 for 6 games ($17.17/gm).
2013 were $105 for 7 games ($15/gm) ... for a Big XII Championship season!
