Baylor Women’s Golf Places 15th at Darius Rucker Intercollegiate

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – Baylor women’s golf finished in 15th place in the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate after shooting 15-over-par 299 in Sunday’s final round. The Bears posted a three-round total of 49-over 901.

No. 36 Baylor (+49) finished ahead of Oklahoma State (+57) and No. 33 North Carolina. The Bears placed behind No. 19 Florida State (-2), No. 10 South Carolina (+15), No. 13 Wake Forest (+15), No. 3 Duke (+17), No. 11 Auburn (+30), No. 7 Vanderbilt (+30), No. 6 Arkansas (+34), No. 23 Furman (+35), No. 4 UCLA (+35), No. 14 Virginia (+36), No. 38 Georgia (+37), No. 15 Northwestern (+39), LSU (+42) and No. 16 Alabama (+47).

Gurleen Kaur shot 2-over 73 in the final round to finish in eighth place in the 90-player field at 1-over 214. It was the fourth top-10 finish of Kaur’s 13-tournament collegiate career. First-semester freshman Emma Bradley improved by four strokes to card 3-over 74 and finish tied for 77th place at 20-over 233.

Sophomore Diane Baillieux and junior Erica Chiang posted Baylor’s final counting scores with matching rounds of 5-over 76. Baillieux tied for 58thplace at 16-over 229, while Chiang tied for 69th at 18-over 231. Senior Maria Vesga carded 8-over 79 in the final round and finished tied for 77thplace at 20-over 233.

HIGHLIGHTS

Baylor tied for 13th in par-5 scoring at 9-over 5.20, tied for 14th in par-3 scoring at 16-over 3.27 and finished 14th in par-4 scoring at 50-over 4.30.

Baylor finished eighth in the field with 175 pars across three rounds.

Kaur led the tournament with 47 pars across 54 holes.

Kaur ranked seventh in the 90-player field in par-4 scoring at even-par 4.00.

Kaur tied for 16th in par-3 scoring at 1-over 3.08 and tied for 23rd in par-5 scoring at even-par 5.00.

STAT OF THE DAY 
4 – Gurleen Kaur earned her fourth career top-10 individual finish in 13 career tournaments. Kaur placed seventh at the 2018 Big 12 Championship, tied for seventh at the 2018 NCAA Championship, placed sixth at the 2018 Betsy Rawls Invitational and finished in eighth place at the 2019 Darius Rucker Intercollegiate.
