LAWRENCE, Kan. – No. 2 seed and eighth-ranked Baylor men’s tennis (21-4) used a strong singles performance to post a 4-1 victory No. 6 seed and 32nd-ranked Oklahoma State (15-11) in the Big 12 Championship semifinals Saturday afternoon at the Sports Pavilion Courts in Lawrence, Kan.

TOP QUOTE
Head coach Brian Boland
On the win…
"Oklahoma State came out with great energy and effort in doubles. We played pretty good. We got up early in doubles, and Oklahoma State was battling coming out with the doubles point. What I was most impressed with is the momentum the guys took right away in singles. I thought we played really well from top to bottom. I was really impressed with Johannes Schretter, especially when he won the first set, 6-4, and stayed with it every single point the rest of the way. He did a great job of setting the tone right away in the win for us. I was extremely pleased with our overall effort. We are going to have a tough one tomorrow with Texas, they are the No. 2 team in the country, and we are going to leave it all out there."

WHAT’S NEXT
Baylor will face No. 1 seed and second-ranked Texas for its ninth postseason title and first since 2014 Saturday at 1 p.m. CT at the Jayhawk Tennis Center in Lawrence, Kan. The Bears are 3-3 against UT in the final.
