WACO, Texas – Baylor track & field is set for the 2019 Big 12 Outdoor Championships Friday-Sunday in Norman, Okla., hosted by the University of Oklahoma.

“We’re excited and ready to compete at Big 12s,” head coach Todd Harbour said. “It’s going to be a great meet, and we’re looking forward to putting together some great performances.”

The Bears have several athletes ranked in the top eight in the Big 12 and looking to score at the conference meet. Eight of those are also ranked in the top 25 in the NCAA, including Maxwell Willis (100 meters), Wil London (400 meters), Jayson Baldridge (400-meter hurdles), men’s 4x400-meter relay (Baldridge, Howard Fields III, Matthew Moorer, London), KC Lightfoot (pole vault), Kiana Horton (400 meters), women’s 4x400-meter relay (Victoria Powell, Sydney Washington, Aaliyah Miller, Horton), Tuesdi Tidwell (pole vault), and Alex Madlock (triple jump).

In the team rankings, the Baylor men’s squad is 21st in the country (No. 4 in the Big 12), while the women are No. 32 in the NCAA and fourth in the Big 12.

The Bears will kick off action at the conference meet Friday with the heptathlon, hammer throw, and 10,000 meters. Saturday and Sunday will feature the bulk of the action with the remaining field and running events.
