Bryan Brothers Headline Waco Pro Tennis Classic at Hurd Tennis Center

WACO, TEXAS -- The world's greatest doubles team of Mike and Bob Bryan, along with 2019 Wimbledon quarterfinalist Sam Querrey and US Davis Cup Captain Mardy Fish will headline the Waco Pro Tennis Classic on Sept. 21 at the Hurd Tennis Center in Waco.

The event starts at 6 p.m. and will feature a singles exhibition match between Sam Querrey and Mardy Fish followed by doubles featuring Bob and Mike Bryan versus Querrey and Fish. The event will benefit Waco Habitat for Humanity and the Bush Ace Outreach Program.

"The Hurd Tennis Center is thrilled to host the Waco Pro Tennis Classic that helps support the outstanding work of Waco Habitat for Humanity and the Bush ACE Outreach Program," said Brian Boland, Director of Tennis & Head Men's Tennis Coach at Baylor University. "This is a great opportunity for tennis fans in Central Texas to watch world class tennis at the state-of-the-art Hurd Tennis Center. Our women's tennis coach, Joey Scrivano, and I look forward to welcoming the community to Baylor University and Baylor Tennis."

Ridgewood Country Club will also host the "Thrills and Drills" Clinic featuring all four players and be hosted by Coach Wayne Bryan from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Ridgewood will also host the Grand Slam Jam post party featuring the Bryan Brothers Band starting at 8:30 p.m.

"I know that Mardy and Sam are looking forward to joining us in Waco," Mike Bryan said. "We have enjoyed playing events in Texas for several years as part of our post U.S. Open schedule. It's great to see all of the support for tennis in Central Texas, and we are proud to help support the work of Waco Habitat for Humanity and the Bush ACE Outreach Program."

The Bryan Brothers have won 118 ATP Tour titles, including 16 grand slam titles at the U.S. Open, Wimbledon, French Open and Australian Open. In 2012, the Bryans won the gold medal at the Summer Olympics in London. The Bryan Brothers have been ranked No. 1 in the world for a record 11 years.

Sam Querrey just finished another amazing run at Wimbledon where he upset world No. 4 Dominic Thiem before falling to Rafael Nadal in the quarterfinals. Sam has been the giant killer at Wimbledon. In 2016, Sam upset Novak Djokovic, world No. 1, and then upset Andy Murray in 2017 and reached the semifinals of Wimbledon. Sam is a member of the U.S. Davis Cup Team.

Mardy Fish is currently the U.S. Davis Cup Captain. As an ATP player, Mardy reached No. 7 on the ATP World Tour rankings in 2011 and became the No. 1 ranked American when he passed Andy Roddick. In 2007, along with teammates James Blake, Andy Roddick and the Bryan Brothers, the U.S. captured the Davis Cup. In 2004, he won the silver medal for Team USA at the Summer Olympics. He has career wins over Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray.
