The improvement from Baylor’s defense is one of the more notable storylines in the Big 12 through week eight of the 2019 football season, but just how much has it improved over dismal seasons in 2017 and 2018?

Defensive coordinator Phil Snow was right on the money when he told anyone who would listen that it would take three years for the defense to come together as he planned.

Eye-popping numbers, especially turnover margin, sacks/game, and 40+ yard plays / game.

To the casual observer it looks like we suddenly got a defense. Three years in the woodshed produced it.
