Find out who had big performances, who slumped, and what teams made a big move in the power rankings as Grayson Grundhoefer wraps up all the Big 12 action.

Baylor stayed unbeaten against West Virginia 17-14

What went wrong?

BU - The Bears turned it over three times and gave up eight sacks. It was a bad day at the office for Baylor but they still got enough done to win.

WVU - On 3rd down they were 3-for-17, they could not run the football at all, and only completed 51% of their passes.

What went right?

BU - The Bears held West Virginia to just 219 yards of total offense and only gave up one touchdown.

WVU - The Mountaineers were able to win the turnover battle by forcing three turnovers on Baylor. They also had eight sacks.

Key Stats

*WVU averaged 0.5 yards per carry as they had 14 carries for 26 yards, yikes.

*WVU DL brothers Darius and Dante Stills combined for 12 tackles and five sacks.

*Baylor QB Charlie Brewer was 20-of-26 for 277 yards and two touchdowns even though he was sacked eight times.

Oklahoma State kept rolling over TCU 34-27

What went wrong?

OSU - The Pokes were only 3-of-12 on 3rd down and quarterback Spencer Sanders had just 158 yards passing.

TCU - The Horned Frogs turned the ball over four times which included three interceptions by QB Max Duggan.

What went right?

OSU - Chuba Hubbard. He had 20 carries for 223 yards and two touchdowns. Hubbard dominated this football game.

TCU - The Horned Frogs put up 450 yards of total offense and were able to move the ball a lot of this game while holding the ball for 33 minutes.

Key Stats

*OSU had five sacks and got eight quarterback hurries as they got after the TCU quarterbacks.

*OSU wide receiver Dillon Stoner had three catches for 93 yards and two touchdowns in his first game this year without Tylan Wallace. He is their number one guy now.

*OSU safety Kolby Harvell-Peel had the game of his life as he had five tackles, two interceptions, and a fumble recovery.

Kansas State ran over Kansas 38-10

What went wrong?

KSU - They had 11 penalties for 113 yards which they were able to get away with in this one but won’t be able to every week.

KU - The Jayhawks got ran all over, they lost the turnover battle 2-0, lost the time of possession 38-22, and only had 241 yards of total offense.

What went right?

KSU - The Wildcats ran the ball 60 times for 342 yards and five touchdowns, they ran wild.

KU - Not a lot as the offense cam back down to earth. Backup quarterback Manny Miles came in and went 2-for-3 for 65 yards while also having 11 yards rushing and a touchdown.

Key Stats

*KSU held the ball for 38 minutes.

*KU running back Pooka Williams had for 14 carries for 61 yards.

*KSU quarterback Skylar Thompson was 9-of-16 for 129 yards while also having 17 carries for 127 yards and three touchdowns.

Power Rankings

1. Baylor - The Bears are the lone undefeated team in the conference still and are #12 in the CFP rankings. Baylor just keeps on winning the close games in conference play thanks to a very good defense and a streaky/clutch offense. They head to Fort Worth to take on TCU in a rivalry matchup.

2. Oklahoma - The Sooners needed the bye week they got to refocus as they head into a matchup with a good Iowa State team. They have the best offense in the conference but the defense faces some question marks after the poor showing against Kansas State. They come in at #9 in the CFP rankings.

3. Kansas State - The Wildcats were one of the big surprises in the CFP rankings as they are sitting at #16. I guess that’s what happens when you knock off Oklahoma and the run all over your rival. They have now won three games in a row as they head to Austin for a big showdown with the Longhorns.

4. Oklahoma State - They won in Ames which is one of the more difficult places to win at in the Big 12 then they lost their super star receiver Tylan Wallace and still got a win over TCU. This team is resilient and have earned a much needed bye week. The run game with Chubba Hubbard will get rested up before the final stretch of the season. Their defense is looking much better as well. The first CFP rankings have them at #23.

5. Iowa State - The Cyclones were on a bye but last time out they lost to the Cowboys at home. This team is better than their record says but they have to start winning these close games to be recognized as a top team in the conference. Now they travel to Norman and face a really tough test.

6. TCU - The Horned Frogs fell to the Cowboys but have the win over Texas so they stay at 6. TCU still doesn’t have a game changer at quarterback and the defense has given up more points than a usual Horned Frog defense. They have a big rivalry matchup against Baylor and could move up a spot or two with a win.

7. Texas - The Longhorns stay at 7 coming off the bye week but have an opportunity to soar up some spots if they can handle a red hot Kansas State team. Texas defense should get a boost as some guys should be available after the bye, they need to play better if they want to pull off the upset.

8. Texas Tech - They lost to Kansas. If they lose to West Virginia this weekend they risk falling to the bottom of the conference due to the head to head losses to the bottom two teams. The Red Raiders need this win but they are firmly in the bottom three and have been for a couple weeks now.

9. West Virginia - The Mountaineers played really hard against Baylor and pushed the Bears to the limit. The defense took a big step in the right direction but the offense is still not good enough. They get a chance to move up to the 8 spot for the rest of the year if they can knock off Texas Tech this weekend in Morgantown.

10. Kansas - The Jayhawks got ran over by Kansas State literally. They are still at the bottom of the conference with the worst defense in the league and the 122nd defense in the nation. I would be very surprised if they got another win with the schedule they have left.
