Find out who had big performances, who slumped, and what teams made a big move in the power rankings as Grayson Grundhoefer wraps up all the Big 12 action.

Texas Tech crushed West Virginia 38-17

What went wrong?

Tech - The secondary forced two interceptions but they also gave up 498 passing yards and two touchdowns.

WVU - Two huge problems. The Mountaineers had 51 yards rushing on 18 carries. They also had four turnovers. The offense continues to be a mess even though they pilled up the yards.

What went right?

Tech - Quarterback Jett Duffey had a QBR of 92.5. He was 24-of-34 for 354 yards and a touchdown, he also had 34 yards rushing.

WVU - The yards were there as the Mountaineers racked up 549 yards and 498 of the yards were through the air.

Key Stats

*WVU wide receiver Sam James had 14 receptions for 223 yards.

*Tech safety Douglas Coleman III added an interception to his NCAA leading total of 8.

*Tech running back Ta’Zhawn Henry got the lead back role this week as he had 22 carries for 67 yards and two touchdowns.

Baylor snuck by TCU 29-23 (3OT)

What went wrong?

BU - 99 rushing yards for the game, 10 penalties, and zero first half points were three of the stats that stood out from a poor offensive showing.

TCU - Three interceptions by quarterback Max Duggan plus 11 penalties for 125 yards set the team back a lot.

What went right?

BU - Clutch again. In the final minute plus three over times the Bears scored 23 points. Kicker John Mayers made a 51-yard field goal to send the game to OT. Then quarterback Charlie Brewer had three touchdowns in those three sessions.

TCU - The defense shut Baylor down for the entire first half and most of the second half until the overtimes. The Bears were held to 3.0 yards per carry and 4.8 yards per pass, that is a lights out performance for a defense.

Key Stats

*TCU running back Sewo Olonilua had 19 carries for 79 yards and a touchdown. He also had four catches for 30 yards.

*BU linebackers Terrel Bernard, Blake Lynch, and Jordan Williams had 41 tackles, 2.5 sacks, an interception and six tackles for loss.

*BU wide receiver Denzel Mims and TCU corner Jeff Gladney had an absolute battle. In the overtimes, Mims had three receptions for 36 yards and two touchdowns. Prior to that Gladney had three pass breakups and held Mims to just three catches for 21 yards.

Texas upset Kansas State 27-24

What went wrong?

UT - The Longhorns secondary got torched again, they had nine penalties, and were only 4-for-11 on 3rd down.

KSU - The defense struggled mightily as they gave up 477 total yard which included 5.9 yards per carry and 9.1 yards per pass.

What went right?

UT - The Longhorns offense was very good in this one but the run defense was even better. The Wildcats are on of the better rushing offenses in the league and Texas held them to just 51 yards on 26 carries.

KSU - Quarterback Skylar Thompson was 17-of-27 for 253 yards and two touchdowns, he had a very solid performance on the road and kept his team in it.

Key Stats

*UT wide receivers Collin Johnson and Devin Duvernay combined for 16 receptions, 220 yards, and a touchdown.

*UT had three sacks, six tackles for loss, and four quarterback hurries.

*KSU wide receiver Malik Knowles had three catches for 94 yards and a touchdown.

Oklahoma lucked out vs. Iowa State 42-41

What went wrong?

OU - The Sooners were up 35-14 after the first half then everything went downhill. They scored one more time the rest of the game and gave up 27 points. Losing the turnover battler two to zero didn’t help either.

ISU - The defense was shredded for 499 yards and it was complete balance, 273 in the air and 226 on the ground. They gave up way too many opportunities.

What went right?

OU - The offense was very efficient as they averaged 10.5 yards per pass, 5.5 yards per carry, and finished 8-for-13 on 3rd downs.

ISU - Quarterback Brock Purdy balled out in this one. He finished 19-of-30 for 282 yards and five touchdowns. He also added 55 yards and a touchdown.

Key Stats

*OU quarterback Jalen Hurts finished 18-of-26 for 273 yards and three touchdowns. He also had 68 yards and two touchdowns on the ground.

*ISU got three sacks, eight tackles for loss, and two quarterback hurries against the stout OU offensive line.

*OU’s top skill position weapons stood out. Running back Kennedy Brooks had 15 carries for 132 yards and a touchdown. Wide receiver CeeDee Lamb had eight catches for 167 yards and two touchdowns.

Power Rankings

1. Baylor - The Bears stay undefeated thus earning them the number one spot on top of the standings again. They have a huge test this weekend against Oklahoma with a chance to solid their spot atop the standings.

2. Oklahoma - The Sooners survived a close game and were able to keep their CFP hopes alive. They travel to Waco in a 1 vs. 2 showdown with a chance to lay claim to the top spot.

3. Oklahoma State - The Cowboys got a bye week and now take on Kansas. They should get that win and keep their momentum in tact. The offense has been solid all year led by running back Chuba Hubbard and the defense appears to be trending in the right direction.

4. Texas - The Longhorns make the biggest jump of the week as they hold a slight edge over Kansas State at the moment due to the victory this weekend. They have a huge test at Iowa State on Saturday.

5. Kansas State - The loss to Texas takes some of the shine off of what has been a tremendous season. But they still have some chances to up their win total and stay in the top half of the conference.

6. Iowa State - This team is the opposite of Baylor because of their inability to win close games. They had better fix that or they could risk missing out on a bowl and having even more of an underachieving season.

7. TCU - The Horned Frogs almost knocked off the top team in the league but came up short. TCU travels to Lubbock needing a win to help their postseason hopes. They have a good defense but really need the offense to take a step forward.

8. Texas Tech - The Red Raiders got on track by demolishing West Virginia in Morgantown. They still have a chance to make a bowl game but really need to win this weekend against TCU to up the chances.

9. West Virginia - The Mountaineers got routed by Texas Tech, the just one spot ahead of them in the rankings. They still beat Kansas so they get to stay in this spot but they need to start playing better or they will risk dropping.

10. Kansas - The Jayhawks shine wore off a little when they got steamrolled by Kansas State. Now they travel to take on Oklahoma State on the road, lets see if Les Miles crew is more like the team that played Texas or the one that played Kansas State.
