Find out who had big performances, who slumped, and what teams made a big move in the power rankings as Grayson Grundhoefer wraps up all the Big 12 action.

Texas clobbered the Red Raiders 49-24

What went wrong?

UT - The pass defense was atrocious again. Tech put up 399 passing yards on the Longhorns secondary.

Tech - The Red Raiders went up 21-14 eight minutes into the 2nd quarter. They scored just three points after that.

What went right?

UT - The offense was insane in this game. The Longhorns racked up 610 yards on the day and did not turn the ball over.

Tech - Wide receivers Kesean Carter and Erik Ezukanma combined for 18 receptions for 285 yards and two touchdowns.

Key Stats

*Texas QB Sam Ehlingher finished 19-of-27 for 348 yards and two touchdowns to go along with 83 yards and another touchdown on the ground.

*Texas had nine penalties for 100 yards, Tech only had four penalties for 32 yards.

*Texas ran for 262 yards, Tech only ran for 71 yards.

West Virginia sent TCU to the off-season 20-17

What went wrong?

WVU - The Mountaineers offense was terrible as they ran for just 86 yards and turned it over three times.

TCU - 10 penalties, two turnovers, and 3.9 yards per pass all led to a miserable offensive showing.

What went right?

WVU - The pass defense was insane at they forced two interceptions and held TCU to just 40% completion percentage, 144 yards, and 3.9 yards per pass. The two sacks and six quarterback hurries helped.

TCU - The defense held WVU to under 250 yards of total offense while also forcing three interceptions. Pretty shocking that they still took the L.

Key Stats

*WVU QB Jarret Doege finished 10-of-35 for 158 yards, two touchdowns, and three interceptions.

*TCU star running backs Sewo Olonilua and Darius Anderson combined for just 61 yards on 24 carries.

*Jalen Reagor returned a punt for a touchdown and had six receptions for 57 yards. He also declared for the NFL Draft shortly after the Frogs season was ended.

Baylor demolished Kansas 61-6

What went wrong?

BU - This was a very efficient game for Baylor but there some points left on the table that could have made this score even worse. Stat wise I guess the defense giving up 4.1 yards per carry is above their usual so I’ll roll with that.

KU - There were many things that went wrong for the Jayhawks in this one but the biggest was the SIX turnovers.

What went right?

BU - Everything but the defense forcing six turnovers and only giving up 116 yards passing on just 3.6 yards per pass was ridiculous.

KU - Not a lot. Running back Pooka Williams Jr. finished with 97 yards on 22 carries to go along with 27 yards on three catches. He was the only bright spot.

Key Stats

*Kansas was held to just 3-of-15 on 3rd down conversions, something Baylor has struggled with this season. Baylor was 8-of-14.

*Baylor racked up 243 passing yards and 264 rushing yards on the day as their balanced attack stood out.

*Kansas quarterbacks finished 16-of-32 for 116 yards, one touchdown, and four interceptions.

Kansas State beat up the underachieving Cyclones 27-17

What went wrong?

KSU - The Wildcats lost the turnover battle two to zero and only had 57 yards passing.

ISU - Many things went wrong for the Cyclones but the main reasons the offense stalled was because they finished 1-for-13 on 3rd down conversions and only ran for 51 yards on 24 carries.

What went right?

KSU - A dominant display of physicality on the ground as the Wildcats racked up 231 yards on 49 carries. This allowed them to win the time of possession 34 to 26.

ISU - The pass defense was phenomenal as they held Kansas State to just 57 yards passing and forced an interception.

Key Stats

*ISU QB Brock Purdy was 15-of-30 for just 185 yards, a touchdown, and an interception.

*KSU freshman running back Jacardia Wright ran for 60 yards and a touchdown on just six carries.

*KSU ran back it’s fourth kick this season as Joshua Younglood went 93 yards for a touchdown on the opening kick-off.

The Sooners continued Bedlam dominance 34-16

What went wrong?

OU - Nine penalties for 95 yards and the defense gave up 335 yards to a backup quarterback without his best receiver.

OSU - The defense could not stop the run. The Sooners racked up 283 yards on 44 carries which is good for 6.4 yards per carry.

What went right?

OU - The offense did whatever they wanted in this game. They finished with 450 yards while averaging 9.8 yards per pass and 6.4 yards per carry and went 6-for-11 on 3rd down conversions.

OSU - Running back Chubba Hubbard had 104 yards and a touchdown on 24 carries to go along with three catches for 13 yards.

Key Stats

* OU RB Kennedy Brooks ran for 160 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries.

*OU CB Parnell Motley had a interception, forced and recovered a fumble, and had six tackles.

*OSU sophomore receiver Braydon Johnson finished with four catches for 77 yards.

Power Rankings

1. Oklahoma - The Sooners rolled against its rival and have the head to head win over Baylor so they stay in the top spot where they have been most of the year. They take on Baylor in the Big 12 Championship on Saturday.

2. Baylor - The Bears have been in the top two in the conference for a long while now and they have looked like the best team in the conference over the past two weeks. They get a rematch against the Sooners and get an opportunity to avenge their only loss of the season.

3. Oklahoma State - The Cowboys have dealt with some major injuries but have still been able to perform well and win eight games. Plus they beat the next two teams on this list.

4. Kansas State - What a great season for the Wildcats and they really got the cherry on top by beating Iowa State in Farmageddon. They will be looking to land in one of the upper tier bowls in the Big 12.

5. Iowa State - Disappointment. This team simply could not come through when they needed to in multiple games this season. They had high hopes for the year and it just simply did not go as planned.

6. Texas - Another team that had a very disappointing season was the Longhorns. A top 10 preseason ranking did not help the Longhorns out at as they just kept on losing.

7. West Virginia - Great finish to the season for Neal Brown and his Mountaineers. This team looked awful to start the season but by the end they were closer to a middle of the pack team as opposed to a bottom dweller. Lots of momentum in this program heading into next season.

8. TCU - Not sure what happened here. The offense continued to be terrible but you just thought that Coach Patterson would be able to get this team in a bowl game especially against a first year head coach. But they couldn’t get it done against West Virginia and they will be sitting at home till next year.

9. Texas Tech - The Red Raiders almost slid to the bottom spot since they lost to Kansas but I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt since they played in so many close games. This team has a lot of work to do if they want to take a step next season.

10. Kansas - The Jayhawks are still the worst team in the Big 12 and they got pummeled by Baylor this past week. Not a great ending to the season for Les Miles and company.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
You have OU too high, and Baylor too low.
That which does not kill me, will try again and get nastier
