Baylor 78, OSU 70 Podcast & Postgame Thoughts
#1 Baylor (21-1; 10-0) grinds out a 78-70 victory against Oklahoma State (11-12; 1-9) in Waco. The Bears were led by 24 points from Macio Teague. Baylor travels to Austin to take on the Longhorns Monday night at 8pm CST.
Observations
- Bench gave us very little production tonight; 4 points on 2-10 shooting; 3 rebounds; 3 assists; 3 turnovers. Need our bench to be more productive.
- Excellent floor games from our point guards overall. 11 assists and only 1 turnover from Butler and Mitchell.
- Free throw shooting was bad again. 20-33 on the night but that was 14-27 before making our last 6. We missed multiple front end of 1 and 1s. That must improve or we are going to take some Ls.
- Got beat up in the paint and on the glass tonight. OSU was 17-34 from two point range (50%) and they outrebounded the Bears 38-30.
- Won the turnover battle 15-9, that is positive.
- Jared Butler and Freddie Gillespie made some key plays when the game was tight in the second half.
- No one said the road to 38-1 was going to be paved with blowouts. Beat Texas!
