No. 9 Equestrian Drops Road Contest at No. 1 Auburn
AUBURN, Ala. – No. 9 Baylor equestrian (3-6, 1-3 Big 12) dropped a 15-4 decision to No. 1 Auburn (11-0, 4-0 SEC) on Saturday at University Recreation Center in Auburn, Ala.
The Bears opened up the meet in horsemanship and flat. While the Bears fell 5-0 in horsemanship, BU secured its opening point in flat when Madison Day took an 83-72 victory over Paige Matthies on Ritz. Day posted her second win of the season in the event.
The Bears fell 4-1 in reining while Maggie Cincotta won 73.5-66 over Boo Kammerer on Bob. She improved to 4-3 on the season.
BU lost a tight battle in fences by a 3-2 score. Day picked up her second win of the day with an 85-84 victory over Emma Kurtz on Herbie. Caroline Fuller picked up her third win in fences with an 86-80 triumph over Meghan Knapic on Rico.
