Baylor Track & Field Will Send Nine to NCAA Indoor Championships

WACO, Texas – KC Lightfoot, Tuesdi Tidwell, Alex Madlock and the men’s 4x400-meter relay will represent Baylor track & field March 13-14 at the 2020 NCAA Indoor Championships in Albuquerque, N.M., the NCAA officially announced Wednesday.

“We have a great group of young people headed to a great city,” head coach Todd Harbour said. “We’re looking forward to a great finish to our indoor season.”

Lightfoot is the No. 2-ranked men’s pole vaulter in the NCAA, holding a season-best mark of 19-1.5 (5.83m). The sophomore from Lee’s Summit, Mo., is the Baylor indoor school record holder and claims the top eight jumps in school history.

Tidwell enters the NCAA meet ranked No. 4 in the country with her mark of 14-9 (4.50m), which is the Baylor indoor record. The junior from Early, Texas, has five of the top 10 vaults in school history.

Madlock holds a season-best triple jump of 43-9.25 (13.34m), which ranks No. 13 in the NCAA. The junior from Bangs, Texas, is the No. 2-ranked indoor performer in Baylor history.

The men’s 4x400-meter relay is ranked 14th in the NCAA with a time of 3:06.93. The Bears will travel Ryan Croson, Maxwell Willis, Matthew Moorer, Howard Fields III, Jayson Baldridge and Hasani Barr to the championships.

“There have been a lot of great performances this year,” Harbour said. “Hopefully, we can cap it off with a good one out there in Albuquerque. We’re looking forward to a great weekend.”

Baylor’s action at the Albuquerque Convention Center will begin Friday, March 13, with the men’s pole vault at 5:15 p.m. CT. The women’s triple jump (3:30 p.m. CT), women’s pole vault (4 p.m. CT), and men’s 4x400-meter relay (6:40 p.m. CT) will all take place Saturday, March 14.
