Volleyball Inks Harper and Parise to 2020 Roster

WACO, Texas – Baylor volleyball has signed middle transfers Laché Harper and Andressa Parise to the 2020 roster, announced by head coach Ryan McGuyre on Wednesday.

“We are thrilled about the huge impact both of these athletes will make,” McGuyre said. “Andressa and Laché are proven talented athletes that fill an important need for us in 2020. The Baylor family will enjoy their athleticism, grit and engaging personalities. It will be very exciting to add these two to our returners. They both bring strong offense and defense.”

Laché (La-SHAY) Harper, a senior transfer middle from Richmond, Va., comes to Waco after spending the previous four seasons at UCF where the Knights won the AAC title in 2018 and 2019.

Harper earned American Athletic Conference All-Academic honors in 2016 and 2017. In her redshirt junior season in 2019, she played in 86 sets and totaled 98 kills on a .409 attack percentage. Harper was third on the team with 112 blocks for a 1.30 blocks per set average.

A Junior College All-American transfer from St. Petersburg College, Andressa Parise led the country and NJCAA in hitting efficiency with a .504 attack percentage. Originally from Santa Catarina, Brazil, the six-foot-three middle averaged 3.63 kills per set and 0.89 blocks per set in her sophomore season for the Titans.

McGuyre adds to an elite squad that will return 14 letterwinnersa and finished as NCAA National Semifinalists and Big 12 Champions in 2019.
