Within a matter of minutes, New Mexico prep standout Sam Carrell went from off-the-radar prospect with no FBS offers to a member of Baylor’s 2021 recruiting class.
A 6-foot-4, 254-pound defensive lineman, Carrell accepted Baylor’s scholarship offer Thursday evening moments after receiving it.
Carrell, who attends Sandia High School in Albuquerque, ran the 40-yard dash in 5.07 seconds at the Rivals Camp, where he also turned heads with a 4.86 shuttle, a 27-inch vertical and 110-inch broad jump. Those numbers, along with some impressive game film, led to his offer.
