FWIW Michigan was down double digits in the 2nd half at ranked Wisconsin in their first game back and won going away.

Not puzzling at all. Defense is about having wind (you don't get to set the pace when playing D). Also, people forget that some of these players might have actually had COVID -- with symptoms. Not something you just bounce back from.
