WACO, Texas – Baylor’s No. 1-ranked women’s golf team will put its undefeated record on the line and go for six tournament wins in a row at the Gamecock Intercollegiate, which runs Monday through Wednesday at Columbia (S.C.) Country Club.

The three-day, 54-hole tournament features an 18-team field competing on the par-72, 6,297-yard course at Columbia CC in Blythewood, S.C. The field includes 13 programs from the SEC, three ACC teams, Baylor as the lone Big 12 representative and Furman.

Eleven of 18 teams in the field are top-25 ranked, including four of the top five and nine of the top-16. No. 1 Baylor takes on No. 2 South Carolina, No. 4 LSU, No. 5 Wake Forest, No. 7 Ole Miss, No. 11 Auburn, No. 13 Georgia, No. 15 Florida, No. 16 Arkansas, No. 20 Alabama, No. 22 Duke, No. 32 Vanderbilt, No. 34 Tennessee, No. 41 Kentucky, No. 44 Furman, No. 55 Mississippi State, No. 63 North Carolina and No. 99 Texas A&M.

The five golfers in Baylor’s lineup remain the same as the ICON Intercollegiate, where the Bears won their fifth consecutive tournament title to extend their Big 12-record winning streak, but the order has shifted. True freshmen Britta Snyder and Rosie Belsham are in the top two spots, respectively, followed by Gurleen Kaur, Elodie Chapelet and redshirt freshman Hannah Karg.

Baylor players are paired with golfers from South Carolina and Wake Forest in the first round, providing a three-team pairing with all teams top-5 ranked nationally.

The Bears enter the tournament with a perfect record after winning team titles at each of their first five tournaments of the 2020-21 season. Baylor claimed a 31-stroke victory at the Schooner Fall Classic, then followed with an 11-stroke victory at the Betsy Rawls Invitational. The Bears wrapped up the fall with a final-round comeback from five strokes down to win by one at the Cowgirl Classic, and BU opened the spring with a 14-stroke victory at the Trinity Forest Invitational. Baylor most recently claimed a five-stroke victory at the ICON Intercollegiate.

BU players have claimed individual titles four times in 2020-21, with Kaur winning at the Schooner Fall Classic and Betsy Rawls Invitational, followed by Chapelet’s win at the Cowgirl Classic and Karg’s win at the Trinity Forest Invitational.

Live scoring of the Gamecock Intercollegiate is available on Golfstat. First round tee times begin at 8 a.m. CT, and Karg will be the first Baylor player off the tee at 8:45 a.m. CT. She’ll be followed in nine-minute intervals by Chapelet, Kaur, Belsham and Snyder, respectively. Follow @BaylorWGolf on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook for updates throughout the season.
