WACO, Texas – Baylor men’s golf returns to action Monday in the Cabo Collegiate at TPC San Antonio. The Bears will take on a 16-team field in the three-day, 54-hole tournament.

The Cabo Collegiate was moved to San Antonio for this year and will be played on the par-70, 7,034-yard TPC San Antonio Oaks Course. Teams tee off for Monday’s first round beginning at 8 a.m. CT.

No. 27 Baylor takes on a field that includes six of the nation’s top-10 teams. The Bears will face No. 1 Arizona, No. 3 Arizona State, No. 4 Florida State, No. 7 Oklahoma, No. 8 Oklahoma State, No. 10 Texas, No. 15 Texas A&M, No. 21 Texas Tech, No. 23 Houston, No. 30 Stanford, No. 31 Arkansas, No. 64 UTSA, No. 82 California, No. 101 Abilene Christian and No. 150 Rice.

Baylor’s lineup is led by Ryan Grider in the No. 1 spot, followed by Colin Kober, Johnny Keefer, Tyler Isenhart and Brandon Hoff. Luke Dossey will compete as an individual. The Bears will tee off for the first round from No. 10 beginning at 9 a.m. CT Monday. Hoff is up first, followed by Isenhart, Keefer, Kober, Grider and Dossey, respectively. The Bears are paired with players from Arizona State, Texas A&M and Rice.

Baylor will be appearing in its seventh-consecutive Cabo Collegiate. BU first played the tournament in 2014, taking third place in a 14-team field. Baylor then tied for seventh in 2015, took third in 2016, recorded its tournament-best finish with a runner-up result in 2017, finished 10th in 2018 and third in 2019. The 2020 event was next on the Bears’ schedule when the remainder of the 2019-20 season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Baylor has played five events during the 2020-21 season. The Bears opened the season with a fourth-place finish at the Colonial Collegiate Invitational, then won the 2020 Big 12 Match Play Championship, claiming the title for the second time in the event’s three-year history. BU wrapped up the fall with another fourth-place finish at the Maridoe Collegiate Invitational.

The Bears returned for the spring season by winning the 36-hole Rice Intercollegiate, then took seventh place at the Border Olympics in their most recent event.
