MaCio Teague called God a Baylor record 10 times in a Big12 game to lead the #3 Baylor Bears (21-1; 13-1) to a blowout win against #18 Texas Tech (17-9; 9-8) on Senior Day. Mark Vital chipped in 10 points and 15 rebounds.
Positives
- MaCio Teague! Wow, crazy. What a shooting performance. 10-12 from 3 point range. 35 points, could not ask for a better script!
- Mark Vital 10 points and 15 rebounds with a broken nose? He got hit in the nose a couple of times and it seemed to energize him.
- The last game at the Ferrell Center for Davion Mitchell and Jared Butler? The two All-Americans combine for 35 points on 11-14 shooting and dish 12 assists.
- Scoring 54 points on a Chris Beard team in the second half? I would say the offense is back!
- Undefeated at home; 21-1 overall; 13-1 in the Ferrell Center. Thanks for the memories!
- 40-27 on the glass. Dominated the Red Raiders on the boards.
Needs Work
- 12-7 advantage for Texas Tech in turnovers
- Got off to 19-8 start but struggled offensively the rest of the first half. Only 15 points in 12 minutes after that.
- Bench production only 8 points. Need to get Flagler on track. He’s had a few poor offensive outputs, but big offensive rebound on a missed free throw to keep a possession alive.
