By using Twitter, he got them all to join hands with each other to defend both open borders and the most outspoken Jew-hating, terrorist-sympathizing clown in the whole party. Amazing.

If he can squeeze Democrats further left, he absorbs the center vote.

People still don't understand how POTUS operates.

As long as the left stays arrogant and smug, they will never catch on.

I think this was a case of Trump having dumb luck. He could have made the Democrats unite behind the radical left wing of the party without using words like "they should go back where they came from". If he was planning to have them unite, he could have accomplished the same end without using that rhetoric. He probably picked up some voters that are turned off by the radical left, but he probably also lost a few voters that don't like the rhetoric he used.

He seems to run his mouth a lot and then in hindsight he tries to make it look like 3D chess, but the reality is a lot of the time it's just him running his mouth and then Trump trying to take credit afterwards for baiting the democrats, who are all too willing to take the bait, whether it was part of a master plan or not.

The left is infested with TDS!

Trump plays em and knows how to stir their pot

Situations like this end result are not some sort of "dumb luck"

It is dumb luck. He likes to run his mouth, and he jumped in this situation because he felt like he was losing some attention. He didn't have to word it the way he did and piss off potential voters in the middle, but he did, which leads me to believe he isn't as calculating as some give him credit for.

The problem here is that you have adopted the MSM view of his words and belief that it pisses off voters in the middle.

The media has pissed off voters by attributing what they think he meant.

It does piss off voters in the middle. My grandparents were first generation Irish immigrants, they regularly heard "go back where you came from", even though they loved this country very much and just wanted to live the American Dream. My parents moved from the north to Texas after I finished hs and they regularly heard from "native" Texans to "go back where they came from, even though they just wanted more opportunities that were available in Texas. My wife is a second generation American, her parents were born in South America. Her parents came to America on student visas and both became doctors and my wife is a special ed teacher. They have all been told to "go back where they came from" many times in their life by bigoted white trash that is likely collecting food stamps.

So while the gang (or whatever they are calling themselves) clearly hate America and their situations are different than my personal experiences above, Trump's use of those particular words are irresponsible, at best. He could have said "they can leave if they don't like it here" (which is what he has changed his wording to now btw), but his choice of words "go back to where they came from" rings home to a lot of people, many of whom live in the center of the political spectrum. I'm not saying this one instance is enough to turn off these swing voters that he so desperately needs, but he needs to be careful and his supporters shouldn't be so dismissive of every misstep (which this was) that he makes.

People getting their feelings hurt when an America hating "Omar" or AOC are told to leave if they don't like our country are ignorantly too thin skinned

Fact is the left today is bred to be too thin skinned by media

"Thin skinned" is what democrat propagandists in media are supposed to create. Most in center are smart enough to figure it out

The difference is, I'll bet your grandmother would have bought the ticket for her own brother on the first boat back if he talked about America the way "The Squad" does.

I covered that in the part of my quote you deleted. I agree the situations are different, but the use of those words brings up old wounds for many people.

Advice which won't be taken on this board. I have yet to see where some on this board have criticized him for anything, unless it is not being more Trump than Trump.

The man just doesn't know when to shut up. He takes everything personally and responds to the most minute who cares comment that any yahoo makes in public, and by doing so just makes himself look small and insecure. Not my choice for president, and whose personal actions I suggest that most here would frown upon was it being done by their adult children. We need a viable third party in this country to hold the feet of both parties to the fire to actually portray some image of civility and integrity. Unfortunately it seems that the only thing that the Dems, Reps, and MSM can agree on is the absolute avoidance of a viable third party emerging.

I agree with most everything you have said, blackie. Trump is a narcissistic, arrogant ass.

But I will put you on the spot. If the election were held tomorrow, who would you vote for?

This is shaping up to be another election of "the lesser of two evils." A shame that a country of 325 million people we don't have better options.

"Trump is a narcissistic, arrogant ass."

This is a description of every politician, red, blue, purple, brown, black, white, muslim, Christian, atheist.

And that is the problem.

Term limits would be a huge help.

That Jamaican running as a Republican against AOC would be a great start for a 3rd party that would hold both parties accountable equally

The key is that BOTH PARTIES ARE HELD EQUALLY ACCOUNTABLE

I think that's like a libertarian and living for utopia which can't exist
