I do a lot of driving back and forth to work and when visiting family, so I listen to a lot of audiobooks and podcasts.

The quality of the books and narration varies quite a bit.

I just listened to one of the best ones I've heard to date:

Zenith Man: Death, Love & Redemption in a Georgia Courtroom

It's the story of an autistic man falsely accused of murdering his epileptic wife of many decades as told by his defense attorney, McCracken Poston Jr. It's extremely well written, and the quality of the narration by Lee Gottel is superb. If you ever remember a family member or teacher reading stories to you when you were in elementary school, this audiobook draws you in and makes you part of the story in a way you probably haven't experienced since.

If you have any interest in true stories involving the law, crime, etc, this is one not to miss.

For this one, it is historical fiction with this summary: "Consumed with grief, driven by vengeance, a man undertakes an unrelenting odyssey across the lawless postCivil War frontier seeking redemption."

So a few in the history area:

Heirs of the Founders by HW Brands. Looks at Henry Clay, John Calhoun and Daniel Webster in the development of the republic. I listened to this while reading American Lion by Jon Meacham. It was cool getting the two different perspectives of the same events (Whig vs. Democrat). Might be worth listening to them back-to-back.

Alexander Hamilton and Titan (about Nelson Rockefeller) by Chernow. Both good (though long) books. Found Rockefeller's story more interesting than I expected.

The Indispensable by Patrick O'Donnell -- Washington's somewhat ragtag navy that managed some of the more significant events of the Revolution -- getting out of New York, crossing the Delaware, etc.

Henry V by Dan Jones -- very interesting biography

Great Tales from English History by Robert Lacey -- Lacey tells the history of England from Arthur to modern day in a series of short, and very interesting, stories. He's a great story teller.

I have listened to audiobooks for more than 30 years, so if you will give me an idea of the genre's you prefer, I'll give you some audio book recommendations that may make your trips seem shorter and more enjoyable.
