this plus ability to buy... big difference between being able to buy a 250k house and a 500k house.

Exactly...in my case im 54..single...no kids..still like to go out occasionally so wanna be close to Dallas...love to golf..and love to ride my bike at White Rock and Katy Trail..so none of those cities would appeal to me..so id pick Flower Mound or The Colony..

Good luck getting into any of those with the exception of LH for 650K or less. As a Dallasite through and through, I'm ready to move to the burbs or the sticks. My city is turning into a hellhole.

Hate to say it, but you're right. I'd love to go all George Jefferson, but above that price range the options just aren't there.

First world problem, but you hit it squarely on the head.
