It opened this week. Still think as an ode to historic old Waco they should not have changed the name. Hell even Twisted Root with no ties to Leslie's Chicken Shack has the old Leslie's sign painted on the building.

I ordered the $9 pancake.
Not bad - Didn't realize syrup was extra, tho.
And the 'free" water was a buck.

Went there this past weekend. Food was pretty good. Ordered the pancake breakfast - two good sized pancakes, two eggs how you like them, crunchy tater tots with parmesan and chives which were slightly over done but still good, and three pieces of bacon. $12. Not bad. Syrup wasn't extra, and the water wasn't a buck.
What's Rudy's going to do about the parking problem now? I intended to get a BBQ sandwich Saturday around 1:30 but there was no place to park. I've never seen it that way before. People were even parking down by the Humane shelter and walking back up to Magnolia. I figured this would happen. Rudy's is going to have to get security and start writing tickets or they will lose a bunch.
Does the place have a bar? Alcohol is where restaurants make their money.
I don't see the demographics being there to keep an expensive upscale breakfast and lunch place going once the TV stops. Locals will not frequent it very often in other words. There are a couple of expensive upscale dinner places in town, 1424 and Prime out in Woodway, but those are also small and hence lower overhead and booze.

I had the two pieces of Shiplap with a side of subway tile.

The reviews are very good so far in terms of food and service. Looks like it's very well done, not just a tourist trap.

We don't live in Waco anymore but we came to town for an appointment so my wife said let's try it. It was 1:30 on Tuesday and we thought it closed at 2 so we might have a chance. We found a place to park and walked up to a hostess who told us it would be an hour and forty-five minute wait. We were hungry so we drove over to Viteks and each ate a homemade sausage wrap with one drink and some chips for about ten bucks. It might have been better than $13 for biscuits and gravy.
