Defending KSU

Thought on how Aranda and Roberts chose to defend KSU? Best approach I've seen so far is Heacock at ISU, Cyclones run blitzed all night (Deuce I don't believe broke 50 yards) all year long we've only been rushing 3 to give the secondary added help. Is this the game we fully commit Jones and Doyle to the box to contain Deuce and Martinez? Guessing that ISU tape will be heavily watched this week by our staff. Cyclones laid the blue print on how to stop them. Knowles and Brooks are solid receivers but our secondary should be able to hold its own while the safeties to run blitz at times. What's everyone's thoughts

I think we defend them the same way we have in the past. Commit to stopping the run and make them beat us through the air. Martinez has played pretty well this season, but he's still mistake prone under pressure -- as we saw last night. Contain Vaughn and make Martinez beat us.

I'd actually prefer to face Martinez than Howard at this point. I think Howard would stress our defensive weaknesses more.

We are playing better in our secondary and Martinez doesn't have the arm or accuracy to throw deep all game to beat us. One thing to remember about KSU running game if you are going to stack the line, once Deuce is in the secondary he is tough to catch. Once he gets to the second level you are prone to give up long runs.

Sounds good, you have more faith in secondary than I do though.
