If Engel was behind that, he really ought to be fired. Any proof?

Even more galling is that ESPN 1660 (Waco) has this megalomaniac ******bag on regularly for interviews.

I don't blame Baylor, when you get paid $10-$20 million as an exit settlement, you are hoping to buy some level of silence. If Art wanted to talk, he should have told them he didn't want the settlement money.

Time to move on and ignore pencil necked geeks like Mac Engle and other such click bait trolls.

Very Christian of Baylor to pay a guilty man to get him out of a contract. Even more Christian of Baylor not to let a guilty man hang himself. I'm glad that Baylor is staying true to their Christian mission to save the man who they say started all of this. Now if only we could get a handle on Title IX.

So, unless I'm misinterpreting your apparently ironic tone, you think it is against the Christian mission to recognize that the post-modern media establishment has their knives sharpened for you and to attempt to manage getting into a public cat-fight with a former employee by settling with him and getting a non-disparagement provision? You have an unbelievably nave view of things. It must be nice in that snowglobe you live in locked up in a safe.

I agree with LBKBEAR. The ultimate goal of the high and mighty Baylor BOR was to protect the Baylor brand and not admit to the outside world that Baylor students have sex. So what you seem to basically be saying is that it is perfectly fine for the leadership of Baylor to pay Briles $15- $25 million so that they won't be "disparaged"? I thought you were an attorney. Isn't this a breach of fiduciary responsibility?

Hugh Freeze left Ole Miss with $0. Is the Ole Miss leadership just smarter than ours or what?

The Hugh Freeze situation was different because it is very unlikely that anyone is suing Ole' Miss because he hired prostitutes for himself or players. Also, Ole' Miss can count on friendly media being a public U and SEC charter school. In the media view, they are "supposed" to succeed and therefore need not be slapped down.

Funny how we all agree but disagree on how we agree, and disagree on how we disagree.

I've e-mail Mac Engel before I knew he was an a_ _ hole and his reply was that of an a_ _ hole.
I no longer waste time listening or reading his commentaries. (nor other idiots that make their commentaries and write their stories about events they know nothing about and are swayed by the desire to write sensationalized journalism. And some of these people write books.)

Regarding @baylorfail, if it was him, what does that say about ethics and journalism? (In todays world, those two words are oxymorons.)

Baylor's culture will never be changed until Ramsnower, most of the current and past BOR are longer involved in Baylor's leadership. (There we go again. Another oxymoron. Baylor and Leadership.) Think about it. Much has happened and changed at BU the last 18 months but culture is the same. Avoidance of transparency. No taking responsibility of their actions or inactions. Lawsuits being filed.

Even the press is lame about wanting to go after the BOR and Admin. (And I know why!)

You know what the definition of insanity is?
Doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result.

You do know Engle (1) has a master's degree from TCU (an MLA, not even a real degree), (2) teaches at TCU, and (3) was an assistant in Media Relations at TCU.....not exactly unbiased. http://www.macengel.com/bio.html

Mac Engle falls into the same Sports Journalism category as Skip Bayless. They don't really know a lot about sports, so they try to hide that by being "spoons" and just stirring things up.
