It was likely Baylor's decision to rebrand and change colors. But Nike is responsible for the uniform designs and options.PartyBear said:
He says he likes the graphite/black unis that "used to be" is what he literally said. I think he was talking about our Briles unis. Then Morris chimes in that Nike is driving the bus on all of that. Which is horse crap.
Baylor is driving the bus starting in 2019. Nike could care less about the 'one brand" that was all Baylor. Baylor seems to be so running away from their big 2019 changes and trying to pin it all on Nike now. Rhoades said somthing similar last month. If it wasnt Baylor why would Aranda joke he might getting in trouble with going public with his dissent?

TCU played for the national championship last year. They're going to be a higher priority for Nike than we are.PartyBear said:
Not really TCU's colors are purple and white that is it. But Nike provides various unis that are combinations of purple and black and silver/gray. They get outlines trim stripes metallic helmets as do most of the rest of the XII schools. They got a new helmet just last week for the UH game.
In 2019 Baylor was so proud of what they did with colors and unis they bragged they did it and tried to sell at these ugly things are what we had always worn throughout history until recently. Just a complete gas lighting propaganda campaign to go along with the 2019 changes. Our administration was crowing about what they did at the time just like a previous one did about their green bear branding. I think you may believe what Baylor officially says too much.

But even TCU has the same ****ty minimalist designs that everyone else does. They just threw Wakanda spikes on them.
I'm talking about helmets. Outside of the one, really terrible alternate with red, they have the same basic uniform combinations we all have. They have pants, jerseys and helmets in white, purple and black, just like we have white, green and yellow.PartyBear said:bear2be2 said:TCU played for the national championship last year. They had them last season coming off a 4 or so win season.

The 2021 team was better than all of those teams by most objective measures. Unlike those, it won both a conference title game and a New Year's bowl game. It's also the only team we've ever had finish in the top five in the final AP poll.BaylorLit 01 said:ImwithBU said:Russell Gym said:

The odds were against Baylor ever being as good as we were in 2013-2015 and the odds are we'll never be that good again. At least we have the memories.

The Briles era was fun until things imploded on themselves. But acting like we can never be good again when both the 2019 and 2021 seasons exist seems a little silly.
We've already been relegated. There is no "next big realignment" coming. The only ones getting a call at this point are Florida State, Clemson and whatever ACC programs tag along with them or are taken in response by the other Power 2 conference.Married A Horn said:bear2be2 said:The 2021 team was better than all of those teams by most objective measures. Its because of the bad timing. No one is saying we'll never be good again. What we fear is a lost decade and when the next big realignment happens, we'll be left out: a doormat (or mediocre at best) with abysmal TV ratings.
This will get us relegated and sent into the college football abyss of irrelevance - never to return in our lifetimes.

I can't argue with numbers but I think the 2015 team was the best of all had a historic injury bug not hit.. most important of which was the qb. Team was completely snakebit. Very nearly went 11-1 even with the injuries (Tex and TCU should have been clear wins).bear2be2 said:The 2021 team was better than all of those teams by most objective measures. The 2015 team was good, but it hadn't played any of the best teams on its schedule before Seth went down. The combined record of the six FBS teams we beat before Russell's injury was 25-49. Those are the types of teams that Art Briles teams always buried, so that 7-0 start didn't tell us a whole lot about how it would have finished the season even if it had stayed healthy.Quinton said:I can't argue with numbers but I think the 2015 team was the best of all had a historic injury bug not hit.. most important of which was the qb. With a healthy starting qb that team contends in the playoffs. Not odds on favorite to win but legit shot to pull it off.
The difference I see was the O-line was better than any of the other years and they lost 2 razor close games they should have won without any of their 2 deep at qb (tcu and Texas). Leaves the OU game which I feel okay projecting a win with our starter. Not a fact but projection.. which is what we do here.bear2be2 said:The 2015 team was good, but it hadn't played any of the best teams on its schedule before Seth went down. I think the 2015 team was the most talented of the Art Briles era, but I'm also a firm believer that injuries are part of football for every team that plays it. So all teams are only as strong as the depth they have when injuries inevitably hit.Quinton said:The difference I see was the O-line was better than any of the other years and they lost 2 razor close games they should have won without any of their 2 deep at qb (tcu and Texas). I agree actual results that really happened 2021 certified they had a better year and were a better team. Just had to mention the 15' team
