They were aware of UM's sign stealing and used fake signals to throw off UM's defense,

Yahoo Sports AM: TCU trickery

Pretty clever of the froggies. Also helps explain why they went on to get their **** kicked in by UGA, who barely won over Oh St (who lost to sign stealing Mich a few weeks earlier).

UM needs to get the death penalty, but of course they'll get barely a slap on the wrist.

Such an elaborate scheme that the HC wasn't even aware of......Hmmmm. Yeah right...

- Ban for 3 years all future bowl games
- Ban for any NIL payments for the next 3 years...
- Fine for all prior TV revenue distributed to the university over the period of the staffer employment with Michigan. That money does not go back to the NCAA but is provided to the schools impacted by this..
- Jim H. fired immediately.

I grew up a Michigan fan.....never liked Jim H.....this just adds to the list...

Funny enough, the NCAA's usual joke of a punishment (vacating wins) would actually really matter to Mich. They are currently the winningest CFB program and vacating a few seasons of wins would put them in danger of Oh St taking over.

Wow.. This explains it. It seemed very odd to me how poorly Michigan played in that game. Plus of course they turned it over several times. It felt like Michigan was lost. This explains it.

Good for TCU not this one. I don't like TCU but I don't like cheaters even more. One reason I loathe the Astros.

On one hand, it's really funny because it's further circumstantial evidence of Michigan's cheating activities, but, on the other hand, it would support the argument that TCU may not have been competitive in that game but for Michigan's failure to effectively cheat. The latter part doesn't bode well for league.

My understanding is that Michigan was manipulating the entire play off such as stealing signs from teams they don't even play in a season and selling them to conference opponents of those teams to prevent the victim from contending for the playoff. I think this cheating scandal may be bigger. This assistant at Michigan doing this will eventually reveal what other programs he was doing business with if true.

So wait...we've had at Michigan
1. Bo Schembechlers son who was an assistant coach step down because of offensive things he said on social media.

2. A major NCAA investigation in their recruiting

3. Another assistant coach let go after his office was raided by FBI investigating illegal computer activities.

4. Now the sign stealing scandal.

All in a year. Looks like Harbaugh and Lincoln Riley will be competing for the same NFL jobs soon.

Exactly - how was TCU aware of this ahead of time? I wonder?

From the article I posted:

Not long after the CFP unveiled the 2022 semifinal matchups, the Horned Frogs staff began receiving phone calls from coaches across the country about what was a well-known fact in the Big Ten coaching community: that Michigan had an elaborate sign-stealing system.
"Literally everybody we talked to knew," said one TCU coach. "They'd say, 'Just so you know, they steal your signals and they're going to have everything so you better change them.'"
One coach told the staff that Michigan "has the most elaborate signal-stealing in the history of the world."

Right, because they wouldn't come out and say something like "And then we called Michigan and asked them how they did it"

Michigan after they realized they had TCU's signals all wrong:

A lot of coaches coming out now that they suspected it but couldn't prove it.

Like why the hell would Michigan be in a Cover 2 defense on 4th and 1 and the other team is in heavy personnel....things that make you go hmmm

Nope. No secret.

Michigan began the season top 5 and only played 2 ranked teams the entire season. They were NOT one of the 10 best teams in the country, let alone top 4.

TCU played 6 ranked teams in season. They were a very good team. Again, arguably not 10 best but better than any Big10 team in 2022.

There were arguably 7 SEC teams who would have likewise humiliated Michigan.

And Michigan will be yard-saled this year not if, but when they make the final 4 if they beat Ohio State.

But I very strongly doubt they will beat Buckeyes this time.

Anyway, TCU was great in 2022 and their best players are now in the NFL.
Just like Baylor was.

And Michigan is 100% a phony and once again they skate through their season with a strength of schedule ranking near 100th. And I look forward to the implosion.

4 team playoffs are stupid for college football (FCS has 24 team playoffs) but if you're really as objective as possible you could have picked the top 4 SEC teams and that would leave a talent gap to TCU or Michigan.
That's why Michigan lost to TCU and TCU lost to Ga. Boys playing men.
Let’s Go!

If harbaugh leaves it will be by his choice…. This may explain Michigan defense but doesn't explain the offense and the turnovers

Michigan should be forced into joining the PAC-12 for 10 years. I understand the issue with Michigan, but hasn't signal stealing been around for awhile? Coaches don't cover their mouth's on the sideline because their worried about bad breath.

On game day it's allowed..

You can't scout future opponents in season in college.

In NFL it's allowed because all teams are equal financially.

In college the smallest schools with lower budgets would be disadvantaged.

That is one of the most idiotic posts I have ever read. If your beloved SEC was really that good, wouldn't they win all their bowl games? And wouldn't Georgia have blown out Ohio State instead of scraping by with a missed game winning field goal?

Signal stealing? Signal stealing?

Who doesn't try to predict what the other team is going to do?

Unless they were recording practices or wire tapped phones or mic'd offices not sure what there is to see here.

Michigan lost for the same reason a&m beat alabama in 2011. Then sucked for the next 15 years as always
Realitybites
How long do you want to ignore this user?
More than predicting what they were going to do. Michigan had people going to the games of future opponents to steal signs.
