Some, not all, thought Baylor had lost focus of their mission as a university. The football team had become the focal point and this bothered some on the board. Drinking on campus grew (tailgating, celebrating after wins, etc). Live bands with pregame dancing was becoming a norm. TV cameras were showing sailgating fans drinking beer with their arms around their bikini wearing girlfriends. All because of football. All because of Briles.
