Didn't like it when he chose to leave; however, with the beatings he kept taking, I was not surprised. IMO, Coach should have, at the least, pulled him out of at least 2-3 games when it was obvious we were not going to win. He paid his dues. I hope he has a spectacular year.
Good for Blake. I hope he does well there.
Does he have a BU degree?
Wish we could have provided him with better protection, better weapons, better scheme. However he was always a really good practice/scrimmage QB. We already knew that.

From what we were told, Shapen always received glowing reviews from practice.
But as we should all know, practice is totally different from what happens in an actual game - especially when you no longer have on that red (or green) jersey, and have to factor in a 300-lb defensive player bearing down on you (and making contact with you).
When it's all said and done, I wish him the best.
But I'd rather we roll with a QB who might not be a perfect 'practice' QB, but is a true gamer when the lights come on - versus a QB who looks 'out-of-this-world' in practice, but struggles during an actual game.
Had we taken that approach these last 2 years, there might not have been as many 'hot seats.'

If he can lead them to a win over Ole Miss he'll be a Legend there; hope he does that and also beats Aggy & the horns.
Lebby will make Shapen look much better with Lebby's offense. Shapen was DOA with whatever that mess was we threw on the field last year and refused to try to modify at any point during the year. However those stats today were not against Bama's, UGA's, Tennessee's or even Aggie's monster size defenses. He'll be in a similar situation as last year in that he'll be running for his life most of the year. The difference though is that Lebby may actually modify some things as areas get exposed instead of running the same thing out week after week with little to no adjustments that Shapen's OC did last year.
Never want to hear Shapens OC from last year's name ever again. Most painful few years of football ever. Even under Rhule there was some creativity on offense.
The SEC is going to turn this guy into a thin paste on the field.

...in January 1964 the Associated Press sports writer Jim Becker published a comical article containing a collection of quotations. However, the supposed quotes were parodies and not actual quotes. The saying under investigation was well known enough in 1964 that Becker created a humorously altered version and attributed it to Bernie Moore [YVBM]:
Unfortunately, our coach staff read that and took it as serious advice. Lets see if our transfer portal QB can turn this around, or if he spends most of the season running for his life as the mighty defensive lines the Big 12 is known for putting on the field come pouring through our O-line.
