Not that we want or need this, but what keeps Baylor from being or attempting to be in the AAU? I know we'll be an R1 school in 2024. Here's the list of the 66 AAU members. Nebraska was an AAU member when they moved to the Big 10, but got kicked out in 2011 so still true that the Big 10 has never taken in a school which is not AAU.

We need a medical school on or near campus (unsure about this)
Get classified as R1 on research

Apparently the B1G gets a ton of money through this which is why they focus on these schools

The fact we think we are close to R1 is good news, but considering Baylor Med split with Baylor back in the day for access to Federal funding AAU is probably not going to happen, but from looking around not all have a medical school so you never know. Not sure what pulls more weight there.

Don't see Baylor starting up a medical school from scratch to meet AAU certification. I think the last AAU school was admitted back in the mid 60s as well, so basically it doesn't happen anymore. A few places have lost it, Neb and Syracuse are two I know of.

Utah and UC-Santa Cruz were added in 2019. They have a list with admitted dates on their website.

What I get for listening to ESPNLA while driving earlier when they were talking about it.

I should have just googled, there are way more after the 60s as well. Rice in the 80s, wager thats due to a heavy weight engineering program.

Why was Nebraska booted? Did they try to prevent it?

I've noticed that The 13th grade is not listed as an AAU school yet they claim they are.
