Is this based on something tangible or someone's opinion? Looks like how I'd imagine it.

What's this based on? UT is a bigger "brand" than Alabama?

Big Game Boomer is most like a zero U T-Shirt fan who envisioned this in his dream.

Not a lot of people live in Alabama and that state is split between Auburn and Bama. Outside of the state, how many people are "fans" of the program? You probably watch the games but you aren't sending money or buying the t-shirts etc.

It makes sense.
ND basically has the whole Catholic population that watches football.
UT has so many K-Mart and gas station t-shirt fans in this biggest football crazy state.
You could interchange Ohio State and Bama and I'd still believe it.

I'm surprised Tennessee and Miami are still so high, riding on their previous success in the 90s.

I mean I guess it's good that we are in the top 50, but there's so many not in the top 50 that are already covered by stable conferences that it might not matter.

BYU makes the top 10. If we stick together, I hope we can add them. UCF, Boise and USF make the top 50.

I'm highly skeptical of whatever analysis went into this. About 6 or 7 of the top 10 look reasonably placed. But otherwise this looks more like a list of who has been hot in the past 4 years.

Nebraska still in top 10? They have two bowl wins in the past decade

I will give Big Game Boomer a big hand for getting people talking about his stupid lists. Who cares what some Sooner fan sitting in Tulsa thinks?

I would think LSU higher than #16

Looks like a list pulled out of someone's nether cavity.

4 of the top 50 are non-P5 (BYU ok, Boise maybe, but UCF and USF?) so that means 19 P5 fall outside the list.

SEC: 1 (Vandy)
Big12: 2 (IowaSt, KU)
Pac12: 4 (OreSt, Stanford, ArizSt, Ariz)
B1G: 6 (Rutgers, Illinois, Maryland, Indiana, Purdue, Northwestern)
ACC: 6 (BC, Syracuse, Pitt, Duke, WF, Louisville)

Some of these are no-brainers (Vandy, KU, Rutgers, WF, Duke, BC, Illinois), but Stanford, ArizSt and Louisville?

Big XII really should've added BYU by now. Long before now ... this list or not. BYU always looks fairly impressive no matter how you look at them. Would be an upper-half-of-the-conference school in any conference that would have them.

Unbelievable that they're still out there in independent-land (although I've heard that this school can be a pain in the a$$ to try to work with -- then again, can you really be a bigger pain than a UT, A&M or OU)?

Don't forget all the people who pass through a Texas airport and buy some Longhorn shirt for their kid before they go back to God knows where and just think it's a "Texas" symbol and have no clue about the school
