I hope that one TCU fan doesn't run into him.

In all seriousness he is good at what he does. Real good!

He was unquestionably an integral part of CAB's success at BU. Wish he was somewhere besides TCU.

It was a blunder for Rhule not to keep him.

If I remember right, Rhule tried to keep him, but Kaz did not want to stay, particularly with a demotion of sorts with Rhule also bringing his own strength guy. I wish we could have kept Kaz though, he's awesome.

It's funny reading between the paid board and the free. The paid side is more anti-Briles and all of his assistants, etc. They think Kaz was ok, but we are much stronger and better now. Then I come on the free side and you still see the appreciation for Kaz and others....

Both can be right. Kaz did a lot of good right after the scandal and I think he helped Grobe keep the team at least intact enough to where we didn't just completely call it quits on the season. That I am very grateful for.

We also have a very good S&C program now. Which in one normal off-season, helped us reshape our O-line and helped the team as a whole get stronger and build towards the season we are having now.

Just to be clear, I give no quarter to many of those assistants, either.

But Kaz deserved better.

I think I remember he got demoted right away. It didn't seem like he had much interest in keeping him on

He definitely did get demoted and I completely understand why Kaz left relatively quickly.

Excerpt

"Outstanding hire. Kaz has proven himself to be at the very top in training student athletes," Briles said via text. "Kaz's unique style of motivation and love is unparalleled."

Said former Baylor athletic director Ian McCaw, "Kaz is a program-changing sports performance coach. He is gifted in building relationships and motivating student athletes to reach their peak performance. Kaz played a huge role in developing Baylor's championship teams in 2013 and 2014."

As someone who followed that Baylor story extensively, hiring any of these guys comes with a stigma, fair or not.

The incident Kazadi was most often linked to was an alleged episode in February 2012, when a member of the Baylor volleyball team was allegedly gang raped by several members of the Baylor football team.

According to a lawsuit that was settled before it went to court, Kazadi interviewed the football players in question and nothing of note happened to the players.

In the suit the victim claimed, "The assistant football coach [Kazadi] reportedly spoke to other Baylor football coaches who engaged in victim-blaming."

Briles reportedly did not find out about the incident until the following year. When he asked Kazadi if anything else needed to be done, Kazadi said no.

In interviews and email exchanges with members of the Baylor staff, including the volleyball coaches and a player, this alleged incident included all of the terrible cliches that so often are associated with these tragic tales.

Something happened. Unless you were present it's hard to know to what extent.

Baylor volleyball players, and coaches, all said to a man that Briles' and his staff behaved appropriately when they found out about the alleged incident.

The fatal flaw in the process was that Baylor University back then was ill-equipped to deal with such charges. All of the adults in charge looked at each other and thought someone else was going to handle it.

All of the adults in charge looked at the other and thought they'd handle it.

No one on that football staff should have been a part of that interview process, and when such claims are made today the athletic department is divorced from such proceedings.

Coach Kazadi was never charged, and he was vetted by the NCAA, SMU, and now TCU.

As much as some pockets of angry fans don't want to hear this, that has to be enough.

That's life in the Big Leagues boys. Not sure why anyone is surprised that someone gets let go when new leadership comes in.

A lot of these strength coaches are larger than life thanks to their own strategy of playing a part. A number of them are seriously average. Let's face it............you can only get so big, strong and fast. Pumping up their reputation by assuming a "character" helps endear themselves to a large group of alumni and particularly those who have little football knowledge.

Yah, Mac. I guess you would know. You had a fairly substantial hand in creating said stigma.

Especially the unfair part. Due to your ineptitude and lazy reporting of "the Baylor story" until these past 2-3 years or so. Well after the damage had been done.

Better late than never? Perhaps. Then again, I suppose it's a matter of perspective. Or click-baiting. Or some other such that these days is only loosely related to anything resembling ethical journalism ...

Now that it's his employer, he's ok with it.

Lots of nice people over on the pay site. I've got no problem with em.

But if someone thinks Ian was competent, it's not likely I'll ever see eye to eye with that person.

1. I always expect the house cleaning, you're right about that. We shouldn't expect anything different.
2. Agree on oversold. the VAST majority of strength coaches have one job and that is to get the lazy kids to be disciplined. If they make it to their Jr year, different story, but by then, it's a bit late.
I've yet to meet a strength coach alive that can compare to the knowledge of a professional physical therapist.

But I think Kaz was unfairly smeared by the actions of others. We shouldn't put him on either a pedestal or unfair scrutiny, IMO.

At least until we've done the same with the Regents and Dildo salesman.

I think once Kaz was told we'd be doing Oklahoma drills on gameday he peaced out.
