Any recommendations?

We use Premier Family and they usually get us in same day with great results.


Last year between Christmas and New Years when everyone was closed, I had to go to Ace Dental on Bosque in an emergency to get some extra penicillin that Premier had given me before Christmas, and they wanted to pull a tooth that I had an appointment for the next week to fix an old root canal that had failed. They said it wasn't going to work anyway and that I should pull it and start the process for an implant ($$$$). I declined and took the penicillin to get the infection down before seeing the specialist the next week. The specialist was able to save the root canal the next week for 1/5 the cost, so be sure you do your homework.

Thanks! I had called Starr and they were not available till next week. My husband has been going to Stonewood Dental in Robinson and they were able to get me in this afternoon.

Eh I don't think she was shady necessarily, but maybe more negative about the chances the endodontist could fix the impacted root canal. He was able to clean it out and save me a lot of trouble and cash, but my regular dentist was also unsure if the endodontist would be able to fix it. It just happened that her solution of pulling plus implant was going to be much more expensive than treating the root canal.

If anyone is interested in a small old school office - Dr Mark Wingate is great. My mom is a former hygienist and I asked who I should go to now. My former dentist retired. She told me about Wingate and I've really liked it. It's just him, an office lady and an assistant. He's good, and doesn't push unnecessary stuff on you. I had to get a chipped tooth fixed and he matched it up better than all my previous dentists have.

Everything is paper and very old school.

Who's the endodontist you saw? Sounds like you were happy with them? I'm currently in a holding pattern waiting for that appointment post holiday.

Yeah I saw Matthew Massey at Heart of Texas Endodontics and he was fantastic. He's a former US Army Dentist and is really quick and professional. He's great at explaining what he's doing as he does which some dentists don't bother doing.

Creekwood Dental Arts on 84 is top-tier.

Dr. Miller is a dental savant. She did an emergency crown on a Saturday for me when I broke a tooth in a rec league basketball tourney and lemme tell ya, she is an absolute wizard.
