Not close. In the DFW area we were -2 in the 2021 storm and even that is not a record low.

BTW, I lived in Des Moines during the winter of '75-'76. That winter was the coldest on record to that point in Des Moines, but, but, but......we only had 2 inches of snow all winter. It snowed right before Thanksgiving and was not completely gone until March. We had a three week stretch where it never got above zero or close to that. I remember at the end of it the temp rose to 20 and we went out to eat. I wore a short sleeve shirt (no coat) and felt hot. It all depends on what you are used to. Dallas had 18 inches of snow that year.

Having said the above. We have gotten overall warmer over the decades. It is much warmer than it was during my years growing up in the 50s and 60s.

Temps overall during the winter months in IA have climbed in seems. We always get a 2 week stretch of bitter cold temps. But usually it's mild. This is actually our first snow of the year. A few dustings but I don't count them as they didn't even total a 1/2 inch.

Will see. Students are still on break as well. A good chunk of the fanbase travels from the DM metro for home games. I would be shocked if it's full. However, taking down #2 will be enticing for those who do travel. It'll be interesting to see what kind of crowd we draw tonight

I'm a bit biased but if there's a better HC advantage in the B12 (aside from KU) than Hilton I haven't seen it. This place gets absolutely bananas in league play
