He's only been a head coach for 4 seasons, so his salary probably has a lot to do with a strong start to his coaching career at Arizona and the school paying up to keep him after the first 4 seasons went pretty well. I haven't followed him closely whatsoever, but if he flirted with some schools, Arizona may have been compelled to give him a raise.
